Acura Integra 100k mile service/maintenance question

I've had a lot of experience with honda/acura's, but I have never owned one with over 60k miles until I bought my 97 GSR. It currently has 93k miles. The 100k mile mark is coming up soon, So I was wondering exactly what maintenance/service needs to be done at or around the 100k mile mark. I am planning on having the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner pulley replaced. I also plan on changing the transmission fluid and engine coolant. I have replaced the spark plugs within the last 5k miles (NGK iridium), but I'm not sure what other parts of the ignition system need to be replaced. I have heard that the distributor cap, button, and plug wires need to be replaced, but I am not sure of the validity of this. I bought the car with 82k miles, and I am not sure what maintenance and service was done to the car before I bought it. The previous owner had oil change and other minor service records, but nothing indicating that any other maintenance was done.

Considering that the car has close to 100k miles, what maintenance/service items would be recommended?

go through it all...and if your cam plug is leaking..do it while you are doing your timing belt..IMO..i would do it anyway

true. I didn't think about it at first, but I would probably have done it when it came down to it.

About how much am I looking at spending on this if I do it myself, and also if I have it done somewhere? I CAN do it, but I don't have a lot of time.

if you do this yourself...the timing belt will rock your bells. first you are going to either need someone to hold the brake pedal down while u try to break the bolt for the harmonic balancer, or u will need an impact wrench..after that..itll be pretty much simple..ill give u the link from TI.net that i used

well it depends on how much extra it will cost to pay a shop to do it. I can do it, but I dont know if its worth my time to spend a whole day doing it.

EDIT: I have all the tools to do it myself, and I have done a timing belt before on my 5th gen Prelude.

from a shop with parts an labor i bet its around $1000-1200 with OEM parts.

from what i've heard, not personal experience b/c i had my mechanic/family friend/father-in-law help me on doing my timing belt, that it would be advisable to purchase a helms manual b/c it gives u the step by step directions on how-to do it.

yea I've done quite a lot of business with him over the years, and he usually cuts me a pretty good deal. The only problem is having to wait to have things done since he is so busy all the time. He could have a shop 3 times as big and 3 more guys working for him and STILL be busy.

I had my 03 CL type S 6 speed serviced there a few times before I sold it in 2006... Don't take this the wrong way, but it took one of the technicians 2 days to figure out why the brake lights were not coming on after I TOLD him it was the switch under the dash. He didn't believe me ( I had already tested it with my multimeter, but I couldn't tell him that because it would have voided the warranty). If it wouldn't have been under warranty I would have fixed it myself. It turned out good in the end, because I got them to check over EVERYTHING that the warranty covered, and they replaced a lot of little stuff (clock light, and a few other little things that would have been just a pain in the ass to do myself). I've always had a good experience there except for when one salesperson (reggie i think) tried to screw with me on an interest rate when I was going to trade on a 06 TSX. Other than that, I have no reason why I would not buy another car from them.

I'd also do a fuel filter and clean/replace air filter depending on what kind you have. The cam plug is not an issue unless it is leaking.

didn't start there until november of '06, so no offense taken. i can almost guarantee that the technician you are referring to is no longer with us. FYI checking continuity on a switch cannot/ will not void the warranty. the only time we will void the warranty is if you have altered something in such a way as to render it inoperable, or if the mileage or time limits have expired. other than that we can't do much to the warranty.

as far as bringing it to us for the service, that's the best way to ensure the car is serviced to it's absolute best ;) :police:

yea but at $3 for the cam plug, I might as well change it while the valve cover is off and the valves are being adjusted. I have the fuel filter on my list of things to do, I just forgot to list it in the original post. as for the air filter, I have an AEM CAI with about 7k miles on it, so I'm not worried about that.
