yeah you're right
like Allirae(sp) had a 2ndgen in his/her sig for a while and that ish was fresh!
but with the exception of that. they will get flamed by me.

all you need to do with that car is drop it, get some tyte wheels, and drive

really aint no "getting ideas" when it comes to that.

there's a fine line between fresh and rice and you can cross it very easily with those cars :goodjob:

Sounds like you did all the proper research before buying a car...

Evil Goat
01-15-2008, 11:17 AM
yes im sure....90-94 = 1st gen and 95-99 = 2nd gen

check the title to the car if you have it, or it should pop up when you put insurance on it via the vin#

the tenth # in the sequence of the vin# can be a couple different letters (or #'s when you reach 2001), at any rate though, it will identify the year of production

the vin # should be on a plate either on the firewall or dashboard on the drivers side.

1994 = R
1995 = S
1996 = T
1997 = V

Lol, well your not getting the right advice or help so i will help you out. Alot of DSM Eclipse's (1gen, 2gen) are made to go fast and real fast. Only a select few do mostly show, but the good one's do mostly Go and a good quality of Show. It's up to you but alot of big Eclipse fans dont do the huge bodykit, extra weight, chrome heavy rims, and big wings. They go w/ lighter parts, and mostly parts that add horses, also make the car look good. Go to www.dsmtalk.com and you will get your advice answered correctly.

Probably the best looking Eclipses are 2G's
Example of real fast looks good:
Stud1481's car on dsmtalk

RockSolidGST's car on dsmtalk
A lil bit of both
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c144/crock442/P8220002.jpg
Turbolovers ride on dsmtalk
Though there are several fast and great looking 1G's, and dont forget the TSI's, Eagle Talons

His car is a GS. Crank walk isn't a big problem on the N/A engines, only on the 7 bolt 2nd gen engines.

DSM Talk and DSM "Tooners" are the suck. Check out some of the more hardcore DSM sites. I LOVE GA DSM. Not a sh*t ton of traffic like some of the others, but everyone will help you out, and there are a lot of guys who know their stuff. No offense, but you REALLY need to make some changes to the exterior of that car, like...yesterday.

Two Rules:
1.) Damn, at least have enough respect for DSM's to figure what Gen car you have.

2.) If you have a "GS" or epecially an "RS", Dont even bother us and ask us how to make your car faster. Get a GST or GSX.

I sold this 1 last yr. it is the same 1 u have it has the 420 in it the same motor in some neons but don't get me wrong the 420 is built better than the 4g63 and will not crank walk if u boost it.I did alot of research on the car when i had it and planned on boosting untill other shi* came up.I would boost it if i was u and run like 6-7 ibs on it and u will be fine.far as looks do what i did and keep it clean and sleek no body kits just lowered and rims and u will be looking clean:goodjob:

Sry son 7bolt 4g63 FTL!! don't get me wrong the gsx is nice but there to many ppl that has had crank walk even before reaching 50K miles after they started modding.and if he does his research he will see that if he boostes the 420a it weill hold pretty damn good:goodjob:

If you have the money to play with those cars, just build a 6 bolt from a 1st gen and put it into the 2nd gen.

psh. 420a = weak sauce. Do what everyone else does: crankwalk that ***** then put a stout ass built motor in there. Kinda hope mine goes soon, so I have an excuse to build a 2.3

Sorry Son? Have you even owned anything with a 4G63t before? You can try to justify your 420A neon motor all you want, But that motor is Garbage to be polite. Even an N/A 4g63 on 3 cylinders is better than a 420a. Do some 7-bolts crankwalk, yes. It is not a proven fact that ALL 7bolts walk. People have the wrong idea about the 7-bolt. Usually it is just some kids that read about them on the internet, and try to justify that they bought a subpar eclipse powerd by an overheating, underpowered, couldn't make more power if its was boosted than a B16, mitsu-chrysler declipse. Oh by the way, ricer headlights in YOUR eclipse FTL!

lol if u knew me u would no like most ppl that no me on here that i have owned the gst/gs/tsi i no alot about them and have had my ups and downs with both them i have to say i kept my gst about 2 weeks total and my tsi about 3 months after just facing the fact that if i built my gst it would not be a dd because of the none problem with the 7bolt and if your do your research u will find out that the 420a holds pretty well and will suprise alot of ppl:goodjob:

nothing bad for the dsms but i had one and will NEVER own another one.... it was a 1st gen, long story short it stayed in the shop more than it did on the road, i will try to find pic of it. had the big 16g turbo and a few other odds and ends
