Cops up there have gotten insane and will charge you with absoultely anything they can. They started cracking down about what...2 years ago?

Not to mention the season and location. Mountains up that far north will have ice and/or snow. If there's no snow or ice...there's gravel and salt to either slip on or begin a rust process on the chassis/undercarriage. If neither...there's still ice/snow melting from up the mountains going across the roads around turns that are sharp, soft, hard, and unpredictable.

Not to mention the possibility of 18wheelers coming through DESPITE all the "no trucks" warnings. This time of year I'd expect they'd be more likely to be up there taking up both lanes and/or getting stuck seeing as it's off-season for the mountain enthusiasts.

Not to forget the fact that 4touge is an organization I've run with before. I haven't introduced them to the EF squad because...no offense...but their abilities (whether it be driver or car) are beyond the EF Squad...this includes myself. I've run with them in the blue ridge mountains...a terrain I know very well. Even still, with a b18 (known for pulling) and suspension so tight it would make Dare feel big plus the experience I have up there, and I was still unable to keep on their tails. Granted, I'd see them now and then through turns, and I wasn't far behind...for me to be able to do THAT...I was hauling ass at speeds that I'd have to rate as being one of the "best" runs I've ever done in the mountains.

Don't get me wrong, they're EXCELLENT drivers, and they're as safe as you can on a mountain run...but the way I see it?

1) Cops
2) Weather
3) Conditions
4) They're fast as sh*t
5) I don't know the terrain
6) If you have an "accident" they WILL NOT STOP TO HELP YOU.

Not worth me going up there and spending my money, and taking the risk.

Best of luck to any and all who run.

Godspeed.

On the other note...best

I'd rather go on the skyways... it's more fun to me

My car wouldn't even make it up to the border.

It'll be a while before I go on a mountain run again.

we just need to plan a local run, maybe all day, north georgia and maybe touch sum other states and just have fun, not try to chase down no one in wrx's and shiit, ya know.

myabe when it gets warmer... say... early march, for my b-day :D

March 9th, which is a sunday, would be a good day....

aren't you scheduled to leave late feb. though, ben?

EvasiveEF9
01-16-2008, 12:30 PM
Maybe...

LoL.

Things are up in the air. I don't think I"m leaving til march, however, the end of february will be full of travel. I picked up another "vacation".

I'll be down in the bahamas, detroit, las vegas, phoenix, atlanta, ft. lauderdale, cincinnati, and...I think that's it.

Papa_Smurf

ur going to all of those places... in the later half of february....?

i thought u were scheduled for feb 28th to leave.,....lol

i'm trying to see when we could have 1 last mountain run b4 you leave, and you're making it quite difficult, sir!

They bumped me back to an indefinite March17th. They say that's when it's going down...I say they never really know when it's going down.

thats cool bro, the more the better. we just ask that you know your limits and dont push yourself outside of your means. there's no fun in loosing control of your car off the side of the mountain :goodjob:

i'd just like to chime in on this for future reference on behalf of 4touge.com, of which I am the co-founder. We are a tight knit group when we run together. I appreciate the comments about being fast...we try, plus we're up at north georgia alot.

When we go up to the dragon we usually take it down a notch, the risk for cops is high but usually our trips plan around that so we get there right before or right after the main season, so the cops aren't really out.

Also we will absolutely stop if something happens to someone. We actually did have an incident resulting from some cold tires one morning on the dragon trip in question. Safety is of the utmost priority to us and all that take part in our mtn runs and there's always room to learn.

Also for bigger groups we'll typically break into 2 groups based on experience and how fast they want to go...so everyone is comfortable and doesn't feel "pushed," a feeling i personally hate as well. Also we'll usually run a scout ahead in the case that we want to really run quick.

So don't be afraid to join us on a trip in the future. It's always fun and we try and make it as safe as possible.

EvasiveEF9
11-22-2008, 12:35 AM
LoL. I'm 22. I've lost my license twice. The EF Squad started following me through the mountains when I was 20 or 19.

LoLoL. Then again...they knew I could drive.
