it's just not a charger anymore.... besides, the original generall lee did not have a hemi in the engine bay, it was rockin' the factory 440 option which was what made it really cool... and 49k ? WTF

Not true, most of the cars you saw were running a 383 or the 318. The sound bites you heard were from a 440. The main engine configuration on the cars were 318's because they were easier to come by and inexpensive. I believe only 2 of the cars were 440's.
