A couple things have come up that've sent me to Alabama a few times and every time I'm there I notice the old Celica Supra my uncle has sitting in his yard. I'm thinking about buying it once I can get in touch with him about the price and the condition of the motor. My question is does anyone know anything about this car. I've looked it up online once but it seems it's more well known in Japan than the states.

it has a straight six 2.6L or 2.8L

its pretty slow bone stock, maybe a nice boost project? It uses a 5mge if i'm not mistaken

You can drop in a 1J or a 2J, hell even a sb350... i think its a GREAT LOOKING CAR.. .I <3 mk2's

oh yeah if you want more info theres a board about them called http://forums.celicasupra.com/

I go there from tiem to time

in related news, I have some celica supra mk2 P-type wheels with new tires, freshly mounted for sale (its 4x114.3) I have 215/55/14 potenzas in the front and have bfg drag radials in the back 245/50/14 brand new tires all around (with stickers) ...asking 500

The celica-supra has a 5mge in it which can easily be turbod or swapped to a 7mgte or even further to 1jz or 2jz. they are much lighter than the mk3 and can be very fun cars! aftermarket wheel options are limited though

Thanks everyone for the info. It seems like my best bet with the car would be one of the swaps mentioned. I'm going to call the guy tomorrow night and see what he'd want for the car. Does anyone know what the price would be with the engine blown?

That's what I'm hoping. If I get it it's going to be first project so I want to know everything about it before I start to work on it or mod it.

yeah 200-500 bux... imo

The wheels alone sell for a lot, I bought my set for 150 bux w/o tires... thats alot for a stock wheel that 14 inch lol.
they're supposed to be 14x7, but on the wheels they say 14x7.5 casted in.

but yeah its going to be a project for sure, If you're that set on getting one, you can usually find one that's already running for around 1000-1500 ... And then go from there. IMO if you're new to it all, its just going to be a 200$ driveway ornament until you get the ball rolling.
