Ok so i was letting my car run this morning and i have been noticing some white smoke at idle .... well yesterday it was BAD... Doesnt smell like oil at all so i was stumped . Well i pulled my intercooler piping and the turbo houseing has a oil film in it... Not a lot but enough.... So my question is where can i get it rebuilt in ga? Its a e-bay turbo , i was told it was rebuilt when i got it but i dont know.....

Cliffs.... need a place in ga that can rebuild my e-bay turbo.....

Thanks

Turbo Diesel Injection in Forest Park does most of the local rebuilds. They've been in business for years and have a good reputation. Hit them up at 404-361-2222 or check out their website at www.tdesystems.com. They're a Master Distributor for Garrett Turbos.

Is the setup tuned?? Also it may be your rings. I know if the ring gap is pretty large or your rings aren't sealing as they should you'll get a lot of smoke.

Yea its tuned by balanced{ ed} ..... almost shure its not rings... Not burning oil and oil still looks new even after 3 days of driving.. Im lost...Mabye it was just me turning it off and on over and over when we were installing the turbo timer....The car does NOT smoke when i drive it .....mabye a little but nothing out the norm...

So if the turbo seals were bad there would be liquid oil and not just a light film on the walls..?

it sounds like your having the same problem i am i have tracked it down to the oil seal on the exhaust side mine isnt an ebay turbo but take your down pipe off and see if there is any oil on the fins on the hot side

I'd rather have an ebay turbo than ebay seats...

Seats are a critical part of your safety, and the cheap seats sold there aren't as safe as your OEM ones. I'd never trust my life with ebay seats in a crash...

As for white smoke - that's usually coolant. Does it have a sweet smell like maple syrup? What are your operating water/oil temps?

I second them! I've had 6 turbos rebuilt by them, in addition to referring everyone I know to them

What do they charge? I have a turbonetics turbo that needs a cartridge replaced so that I can sell it.
