The Rx-7 is mine and the 240 belongs to a friend. He's not on this forum, but he is on 240 Atlanta under the name Nisxz. His car is an 89 with a 91 DOHC swap, a catback, Eibach sportline springs and some aftermarket shocks I forgot the name of. Ok, well enough text, lets get to the pics.

(interesting note: this last shot was taken by putting the camera on the tripod extended at its full 7 foot length, then placed on top of the Rx-7 for a total of about 11 to 12 feet tall. Unfortunately the lens used for this shoot was not wide enough to get the whole car)

Enjoy, thanks for looking, and let me know what you think about everything.

Thanks. It was freezing cold that day, but I think the pictures show it was well worth it.

You should have started shooting about 45 mins before that 1st shot. They all get progressively darker and the colors bleed. You should also try a better backdrop than a neighborhood pool and tennis club.

Location was an issue as I only had an 1/8 of a tank and no paycheck, and I like the darker images more, a lot of it also has to do with post processing and camera exposure. Thank you for your input though. I would like to do another shoot with him when it warms up and at a better place. Maybe I'll have a better time frame. It was supposed to be a 3 car shoot and we waited until 4 so the 3rd guy would get off work but he canceled so we headed out @ 5:15 and the sun set at 5:45 that day.

I'm glad you didn't take my post personal, it looked more harsh when I read over it again. The funny thing is that the low lighting makes the 2nd to last shot have a really cool video game look to it.

HAha yeah, it read pretty harsh, but I am a part of photography forums and I can take C&C well as long as there is meaning behind it. Not just "This sucks" but "This picture is a little blurry, maybe you could have weighed down the tripod a bit to keep from wind-induced camera shake."

The RX7= nice, I'd drive.
The 240= blah, wouldn't consider it

This is the farthest thing from a "photoshoot." Later, QD.

hist 240 is pretty nice and clean, but my 7 is still faster. I'll just take your post as a compliment. :D

And what makes it not qualify for a shoot?

It was meant to be, lolol. 240's are a dime a dozen so I don't get impressed with them like I did 3-4 years ago. RX's you just don't see daily. Stock or not. I love them. I had an 87 about 10 years ago.

And what makes it not qualify for a shoot?

I made a thread in the WL about the oft misused word(not just to this thread, but to the numerous threads). A shoot involves a lot more than just parking your car and snapping pics. These are just random shots and pictures of the cars. It's not to take away from the pics at all. Most of the actual photographers on here will tell you the same thing if asked. Later, QD.

Haha my girlfriend said it looks like the 2 cars are on a date in this picture.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n15/eastermonkey/dual%20shoot/arrow.jpg

My car is the boy because it is more angular (beltline, trim, wheels, are all squarish versions of the same thing on the 240) and the 240 has more curves. Also mine is blue his is red. It's kinda funny because with the "romantic lighting" it does kinda look like that. I bet my car is hoping to get headers by the end of the night.

Yeah, I got home okay. I might finish the pics tonight if the girlfriend doesn't come over, if not, definitely tomorrow. I had to do these pics first because we did this shoot 2 days before the V-meet.

I liked your pictures a lot actually. I thought the thread was going well until you started describing your car as being on a date and resembling a boy.

QD - Thank god youre here buddy-IA wouldn't survive without your opinions and corrections.

Good pics usually have a good location, good lighting, and the sharpness in some of your pics needs some work. Not saying the pics are bad, and in and way not saying im a pro lol. I use a crappy $150 Sony DSC I bought like 3 years ago to take all my pics. XD

Thanks, I'll try and tackle the sharpness. I like to shoot in low light so I have to rely on the camera's autofocus system and trust it. I may bring a flash light with me to my shoots so that I can light the area and fine tune it manually. Thank you.
