So we just got back from NY which really wasn't much of a vacation.
The B/f wants to do something more relaxing just for the weekend in the next month or 2. We frequent Florida a lot already so its getting played out.
I was thinking 3 day cruise to the Bahamas but he doesn't have his passport yet (being lazy!). He wanted to do like a cabin rental for the weekend in Helen, GA. I was like blah BORING!
Any of you guys have an recommendations? I was thinking Vegas cause I never been but is it worth it for a weekend trip? Maybe for February for V-day? http://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif So it could be like a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and return Sunday?
Places Ive been so you can rule these out http://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Nassau Bahamas, Panama City, FL, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Savannah,GA, NYC (grew up there), Detroit, MI, Pennsylvania, PA, Mrtyle Beach, SC, Istanbul, Turkey, San Fransisco, CA, prolly more but this is all I could think of for now http://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
Our budget is going to prolly be approx. $1,000 for travel and hotel. I want to do something fun!

hit the mountains... trust me it's relaxing.... and even if ur budget is a thousand, why not save it for something better...
hit up helen/blue ridge just some where in north ga... heck maybe go a bit further and hit gatlinburg/pidgeon forge in tn... get a nice cabin and just chill if you want to relax... if you go to gatlinburg, hit up cades cove... it's a wildlife park you just drive through and see an amazing amount of deer/turkey maybe some bears/hogs/mt lions/coyotes real cool trip and it's beautiful up there... gatlinburg also has what they cal "ober" and you can ski/snow board
i've got some friends that can get you a cabin in blue ridge for a good deal..

If you were thinking about a weekend trip to vegas, i'd consider Reno, Nevada instead. A bit smaller than Vegas, but you can still gamble, and it's a little more fun if you're going for just a weekend.
If your budget can afford someplace in Europe, i've always wanted to go to Germany :D

a great getaway nice price and away from all BS but close to home.
A little town called the Highlands in North Carolina.
Its great! depending where you stay in town...breakfast in bed i think. I stayed in a cabin and they have a spa and other little things you can do there. I went during the late fall and it was beautiful. I stayed there for the weekend and enjoyed myself. I think the best times to go is fall winter and spring. but im sure summers are awesome cause you get to walk around more and enjoy the restaurant's patios and stuff.
i cant find the card to tell you where i stayed but i was at the Old Edwards Inn and Spa 9they have cabin like hotel rooms thats are cool) if you do your research its not hard to find it. GREAT for a couple or friends going out for a mini vacation as couples. Or a great place for peace and quiet by yourself.

Get a cabin at a place like this (http://www.fontanavillage.com/) and then spend the weekend driving a road that looks like this:

If that doesn't tickle your fancy then you have no place on a website like this.

hilton head is nice. i like charleston,sc alot if you in to history you will like it alot. lots of good bed and breakfasts around ashville, nc. like tasuki said the highlands are gorgeous this time of year. if you have a good bit of time to drive or just want to fly my older brother works at a ski lodge in minnesota right at the canadian border. he showed me some pics last time he was down and i have never seen anything like it. if you are interested in that i could get some more info for you

Thanks for all the info on the different places.
Anywhere out of the country is a negative since he does not have his passport. He's not a US citizen so he needs to get a passport from his country and some kind of re-entry pass from the US.
He suggested do the mountain cabin rental thing but I am getting bored of going up there. I've been up there 3 summers in a row, renting cabins, riding our motorcycles up there. It gets kind of boring and I wanted to do something yanno FUN and different.
Finally convinced him to do the Vegas thing and even got him to go for the Venetian hotel as well. We are going to go see the Cirque Du Soleil (which I've seen 3 shows already and loved it).:goodjob:

You will never have more fun than this!!! It may run a little over 1k but not by much. The airfare will be the most expensive part. We found bargain flights for $199 each round trip and the rest is a cake walk.
Take the Basin tour and the 2nd day keep free for riding on the National Forest trails. :)
