At a recent meet, one of the guys had an Ariel Atom. I had never seen one in person before. Amazing car to say the least. Advan A048 Tires, H&R coilovers, and a full cf shell over the tubular frame. All I had with me was a cell phone to take this pic. I forgot my camera, but I won't next time.

yeah. it was a nice turn out. i think we had a bigger meet once or twice as Evo SE a while back... i remember we cruised this one curvy road at night one time, like 8-10 evos one behind the other adn all you would see would be flashes from the flames shootin out. lol it was fun. good times.

Yeah we didn't do much driving that night. It was kinda cold. I can't wait for it to warm up a little. It had to be freezing driving an Atom that night.

I don't know. I didn't get a look under the "hood". I did peek over into the cockpit and look around though. I didn't know who the owner was since there were so many people there that I didn't know.

What motor did it have?

the atoms come with the em1 civic si motor (b18?) sc i believe.

it's 300 hp on a 1300 pounds car. he loses traction in 4th he said.

actually the atom was offered with many different motors, one being a GM ecotech motor which many claimed felt better then the K20.

i knew it was a SC honda engine. thanks for correcting. reps. The North American (2nd gen) has a supercharged 2.0L Ecotec from the Saturn ION Red Line & Cobalt SS while the Ariel Atom 1 (UK) has the supercharged K20Z from the Civic Type-R...

NOTE: The North American importer, Brammo Motorsports, did build ten (10) of them in '06-07 with K20a's before switching to the Ecotec.

I heard that these cars in the states have the same motor that is in the Cobalts. I read about this car not to long ago. The ones that are overseas are the ones with Honda motors in them. Correct me if I am wrong
