yea 1st gen 323 gtx was in the states it was AWD, they had a GT sedan version that was FWD.

the 1st gen protege also came AWD in the states, but they are hard to find in the south, but came with a sohc1.8. But in japan, they always had a AWD turbo alternative in the 323 GTX/GTR, and the Protege(familia) interplay GTX, from 90-94..

theres a hell of alot more gtx's runnin around overseas than GTR's. most of the gtr's that were sold have been wrecked..
