According to the RIAA's lawyers its illegal to even have mp3s on your computer now, whether you are sharing them or not.
the music industry is digging pretty deep.. in the article they said they sued a single mother a little over 9k/ea for 24 songs. ****s getting ridiculous!

Super duper gay. But I feel like you'd have to be advertising that you had mp3s in order to get caught. How else are they going to know what files are on your comp?

lol as if I couldn't just rename my mp3's to wma's or simply convert them lol!
They aren't saying that it's illegal to download from sites like itunes and such. They're more discussing unauthorized copies being made (such as ripping a cd onto your computer). But after reading the article I'm almost positive nothing will come of it. Just some fun sensationalist media for everyone to chew on.
