well i need to get a new muffler since i once was a cheap ass and have a ful ebay exhaust and well i got the muffler re welded on to be offset. first off the guy that done it did nohting like i told him i wanted second he overheated the metal and made it weak so the new weld ended up breaking off the hanger and taking about a three inch peice of metal with it. I heard it was the more oval shaped the deeper tone? i plan on getting a biger exhaust later cause i would like to do a motor swap and such. i currently have 2.5" exhaust. i was thinking something like this for cheap lol http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/N1-3-INLET-TURBO-MUFFLER-EXHAUST-3000GT-VR4-EVO-VIII-9_W0QQitemZ360008746410QQihZ023QQcategoryZ33636QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

to give you an idea of my experince of ebay tips..i used a 3.5" burnt tip one around like 45$or sumthn. The exhaust shop guy new instanly the moment he pulled them out of the trunk that they were cheap and told me he dosnt reccommend using these cuz they will blow out.
so,i drove over 500miles with them, the weak SS metal broke around the weld on the hanger leaving a big hole on the side. then also as he said the whole inside of the muffler blew out,so i was left with just a coffee can type deal pretty much.
with my experence,id stay away with cheap parts that get really hot;exhaust,headers.ect..but its your money and ur car.
just telling my experince with ebay tips.:goodjob:

see thing thing with mine was my whole exhaust was fro ebay and it was good until this dumb ass re welded it. also he could of overheated the metal. i have never had any problems with anything from ebay. you have to be careful who buy from and what you buy.

I think it is better off getting brand name or custom cat back. I never like weld on mufflers because they don't give you performance at all and they are just wasting money. Sometimes you can get brand name cat back for 400 brand new or even less.

for a deeper tone, go for a oval shaped canister muffler. such as tanabe touring, apexi WS, or greddy SP2. they all sound nice and quiet and deep at high rpm.

as for your choices. i suggest getting brand name stuff. the cheap stuff just break away really quick. ebay really isnt a bad place just as long as u watch who u buy your stuff from... hope it helps
