But why the hell does a Civic owner who built his car buy another Civic as another project? Same goes for Integra's. Sorry but it gets on my nerve. I just came back from the mall and some kid was bragging how this was his 2nd civic and it's fast as hell. MUTER ****** IF THIS IS YOUR ****ING 2ND PROJECT CAR MAKE IT RWD OR SOMETHING NICER AND FASTER!!!%@#%$@#%@%@%#@#%@% ****ing **** pisses me off. Nowadays Ive seen so many Civics and Integra's barely any surpass me as WOW...that everytime I see one I want to blow one up. Sorrry but if you are gonna do a 2nd project save your money and buy something worthy of modifying.

My question is how did Civics even become so popular as tuners in the first place? They have no natural racing attributes. they start off as grocery getting economy cars for families who can't afford something they'll actually enjoy driving. If you are into automotive sporting, then get a car that was designed to be a sports car (or at least sporty).

JDM AUTHENTIC FRONT END, K20 Swapped with full Toda engine goods, gangster ass SSR, Work, Volk Racing, Enkei's, etc. etc., and some other fine good JDM parts. It's not expensive if you look around the right places.

Well here's another thing that really irks me a lot is ppl puting stock rims on there Civic and Integra thinking it's cool. You spent what 200-300 bucks on those rim plus additional 200-400 on tires. you could have saved up enough and bought some nice ass rim.

If thats what they like and enjoy, then let them spend/waste their money however they want. Did they ask for your opinion?

Is that your prelude? Why didnt you get something worth modding? Why modd what you have when you can get something better? Maybe its b/c its what you like.

87 Turbo II
12-30-2007, 01:55 AM
I don't think all civic owners really like their own cars(there are some, and there are Civics well worth liking), so much as tell themselves they do until they believe it to justify their decision. Just about, if not 100% of people who go from civics to a real sports car (generally FR with 60/40 distribution or better and tires 205 or wider, with exceptions) are worlds happier.

I also think a lot of people(not all) who own Civics buy it for the trend of getting one, then kick themselves later as they lose race after race at stoplights, upgrade, and see what they were missing the whole time.

civics and integras DO have racing backgrounds... what do you think realtime acura ran in speed world challenge before the rsx came out? integras... what kind of car got 2nd at runoffs in ssc? a civic si. if they werent meant for racing would honda have contingency programs an sponsorships for drivers? nope.

and its not like your prelude is a whole lot better than a civic. sure, it has more power, but its also ALOT heavier.

if people want to mod civics and integras, let em. why does it matter if theres 69547362 civics out there that are similar? its their car to mod. they bought it because they wanted a civic. while im glad i didnt buy a damn honda, i have different reasons for not doing it like theft and being profiled with all the fags who do burnouts at pleasant hill lol

and it wasnt you that said anything about racing, it was 87turboII.

when you think about it, theres ALOTTTTT of cars that are modded, but theyre all the same mods. whether its a civic, miata, rx7, integra, or whatever, its always the same. wheels/tires, suspension, intake/exhaust, and MAYBE a couple bolt on motor mods.

my first was a 93 protege, i got alot of recognition in the community.. did alto of firsts with that car. and nobodies car looked like mine. But now alot of things i did to my car alot of people are doing and i still get pm's about a car i got rid of 2 years ago. its a great feeling when i ran into a guy at nopi with a 1st gen protege, and he says "i loved ur protege and it made me go and get one" than seeing his and seeing that he is actually doign the same things i did.

i wanted to get another one, and i actually did got one exactly liek i wanted, a black lx, just liek my previous, just auto matic. but i got it for FREE!... as it sat.. i realized i wanted to try something else, but i loved the platform and knew so much about it. So i got me a escort GT.. everyone hates escorts.. but the potential for the GT is jsut as high as any car. It all pays off when u get it how u want... and u get bombarded with questions..and questions. and u actually do something noone has ever done before..

and OWN A CAR THAT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE ANYONE ELSES, BUT PEFORMS BETTER!!!

i think the problem is originality today, which is killing the "tuner" culture. People tend to want to do waht other people do, and are afraid to be original. Its almost sickening to how many evos/stis/240's grace car magazines.. i know everyone is tired of seeing these cars. There all the same. i dont knock people for messing with popular cars, but alot of them are just following trends.

I will say I want an eg hatch as my 2nd car.

I want it because of the cheap parts and high hp possibility.

If you want something for a civic, you can have it, and for cheap.

MY car is an e34 bmw. There is probably 10 of these modded in GA. Cool because of originality, but sucks because less knowledge, less parts, less support, and you will never find one in a magazine.

I have no problem with civic or tegs. They are just lucky that they have the after market support.

what messed up that lancer was the fact it sucked.... limited tunability on a SOHC 2.0l. if you wanted power, you had to boost. if you wanted boost, you had to build.

Dampens the sound of the engine. Not much but is a bling factor. No USDM cars came with it. Prelude did not come with anything spectacular. Most all JDM PReludes have that. I hated having a CF hood cuz so much time and effort was needed to take car of that. So I got a JDM Type S hood and it came with it. The hood cost me only 100 bucks which came with it. Maybe I liked to see a row of them parked next to each other...

It doesn't really matter why, the point is that it is my money to do with as a please and you shouldn't bother yourself with it.

do you race? and if you built a different ar for different types of racing, you wouldnt have several identical ones, would you?

and if you dont anyways, then why the f*ck are you arguing with me about it? i can have my opinion if i want and i can voice it whenever i want.

I do race, yes, but that is not in question here.

If I did build different cars with different setups, no, they would not be identical, but even if I was into racing and just liked having a couple of the same cars, what are the chances that they would end up being "identical"?

The OP was talking about buying another of the same car, people do that all the time, but I have never seen it done where the next car is "identical" and since it isn't, why does it bother you that it is the same car and they didn't move on to something new?

Dude who said the parts were expensive. I got them for ridiculous price. JDM Hood insulator cost 450 dollars brand new. I got mine for 100 bucks. ????
I have friend's in Cali who live off a grand a week afford Volk Rims or Work Rims cuz they know hookups. If you know the right people you get it the price you want.

I hear ya, I'm not saying they are expensive for me, and I admit it's all about who you know. Not hating on you, or anything. Just trying to look out for the broke ass people out there, yah know.

So it's not bad.

i like the sound of my engine! oh and my car came stock with a hood insulater. cdm>jdm... :idb: lol
