I blew one of the shocks on my coilovers a while back and I need to have it rebuilt before I throw them on my Mk2 GLI. Does anyone know of shops that could do this or how much it would cost?

send it to the manufacturer.
could send all four to get freshened, maybe revalved or shortened depending on your setup

The manufacturer is in Germany and doesn't make these anymore.

Bump. I still need to know. Its just a seal that blew, it can't be that hard to replace the seal and put new gas in it.

I would really like to know because it is just a stupid little seal that blew. I'm pretty sure all it needs is another rubber seal and more of the fluid/gas put into it.

I am unaware of any shop that rebuilds Patec shocks. Most race shops that do suspension rebuilds, revalves, or shortenings would probably consider these to be throw aways. I have never heard of anyone that has had these ever having them rebuilt. You may want to check out vwvortex and ask on there. If it was a Koni, Penske, Ohlins, Bilstein, or the like I could point you in the correct direction.

Buy the seals and the shock oil and bring me wendys.

But seriously, I rebuilt coilovers for 2 Tacomas now. It aint that bad. You need a vise, tools, an air compressor, shock oil and somewhere that has a nitrogen tank.
