Yes, a ticket thread. No, I'm not whining.

As of the night of the ticket and right now, I'm only 20 years old. Back in October, I was coming out of a parking lot after getting off work in Smyrna at about 12:30am. I was behind a friend of mine, and we pulled out of the parking lot a little fast and our tires made some screeching noise. Then the cop followed us and pulled us both over.

They told him to go on his merry way, and gave me a reckless driving ticket.

I got a continuance until 2/26/08. I'm wondering how I can go about moving for a dismissal to get it dropped, or do I really need to speak to a lawyer to try to get it handled that way if the cop does show up.

some cop tried to give me a wreckless driving ticket, along with plenty of other bad tickets. luckily i knew someone and got the 3 of the worst tickets dropped and i was only left with a 115 in a 65 ticket. haha, of all of them that was the best one to be left with, i was very happy

Talk to lawyer and learn what your options are. The lawyer might advise you to plead no-contest this way it is just a fine and no points.

I suggest going to talk to the Solicitor General for your county ( or whatever county ) and see if you could get the ticket reduced, if this a first ticket, and generally they will comply.

I got a ticket a year ago for speeding and aggressive driving and got both dropped because I talked to the SG about it. The judge said that since the cop didn't record a statement from me and just the other driver, there was no comparison in what happened that night.

Just my $0.02

I would plead not guilty until I'm 21, during the calender calls you can negotiate with the DA, as well.

Wow Robbie, I don't mean to insult you, but even chirping your tires a block from the police station is a bad idea. Good luck man I just hope you don't lose your license again.

i cant believe they gave u a reckless driving for that. that sucks. but the best thing to do is to take the defensive driving classes before court. a lot of the time the judges will let u get away with a regular speeding ticket.

Super glue your butt cheeks together... It'll come in handy when you go to prison.

You could poop out of your mouth like they do in that Southpark episode.

For the record: This actually can happen. Hirschsprung’s disease causes your feces to back up in your system to the point where you actually start to vomit poop.
