Sup ppl!!!! I just want some ppls thoughts on the New Evo X!! Mitsubishi said it should be out in march of 08:thinking: ... Bash it if u want.. Give it congrats... i think the twin-clutch is nice feature. :goodjob: Sure it doesnt compare to a good old fashion STICK.. but your can "improve" and "downgrade" @ the same time.

the GSR model is Stick but it also is a 5-speed...**Yawn**

but anyways

but im debating on waiting for that ...or just getting a civic si. The evo M R is suppose 2 be like 37k...

i think the new wrx sti... is Fuglie ...

hope everyone got what they wanted for christmas n all that Fun Stuff

Dude, IMO one of the most beautiful cars thats come out in awhile.

However.... I haven't seen anything post-concept so there is room for dissapointment.

I guess the new Impreza and Lancer will have to grow on me a bit....they both look ugly as sin, and are completely unimpressive with their numbers (Except they did quiet-down the Impreza's engine, I'm totally PSYCHED that they removed it's most distinguishing characteristic, and made it sound identical to every other crap-wagon on the road)

I am not amused by the 4B11T. I don't see why they decided to break what wasn't broken and drop the 4G63. It's nice to see a new engine I guess, but...a new engine that essentially re-writes the market for parts and doesn't provide a very significant performance upgrade? Nothx.

It makes me sad that Mitsu changed the platform so much.

Honestly the X has nothing on the IX, and the IX out performs it in every catagory.

Ill try and find a side by side comparsion I saw a while back that discusses everything in much more detail.

Either way, it is still going to be a nice car, I just wish they would of kept the 4g63 like Kaiser said.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0801_mitsubishi_lancer_evolution_comparison/index.html

Side by side stats on page 6 are quite interesting...

I mean jesus 14 seconds on a 1/4?!?! Damn my FWD NA bolted Spec V isnt much behind that!

But who knows, maybe in a year or 2 once the platform is more established it will be stepped up a little bit. The car is still gonna be cooler than a lot of **** on the road though

i think it was time to get rid of the 4g motor... its soo old. it has been time for a motor change.

While I would normally agree with you, I actually thought about it, and decided that I can't possibly imagine why ditching one of the world's favorite motors in favor of a CRAP engine because of gas mileage and "reliability" (LoL, Mitsubishi Reliability.) that literally is a snooze-fest with paddle shifters...no thanks, that's not an Evo. I'll wait and see if the 4B11 stops sucking in the Evo XI, if it doesn't, then I dunno what I'll do. Probably cry and try and buy an Evo VI from Japan.

Steve: Don't think about the Evo X as slow, think about your Spec V as fast! That's obviously what Mitsu is trying to do.

lol Kaiser thats awesome. Its very rare I see the words "spec v" and "fast" in the same sentence haha

But you are totally right 4g63 is a legendary motor, maybe mitsu is trying to appeal more to women or the average consumer? You know instead of the people who actually would be buying it and enjoying it (people like us)

Either way, I think it is a poor move on their part...we'll have to see how the new STI holds up

Well I read Motortrend's review of the new Evo X GSR (Base Model) And they noted that it's performance was inferior to the IX GSR (Base Model) in several ways. Skid Pad was the only place the X beat the IX, and that's mostly because of AYC. It's too bad Motortrend only tested American versions of the Evo's, because otherwise they would have sounded less dumb talking about AYC as a brand new feature on the Evo X. It's only "brand new" for America. The only big thing about the Evo X is that it's not as "tuned down" for the American models as all the previous Evo's have been. I say that's a plus, but my big problem is the styling. The new Lancer looks like a toy car, and the Evo version is nearly indistuingishable.

I don't DISlike the 4B11 motor, either. I DISlike the fact that performance-wise, the Evo X is a step down from the Evo IX, except that it has AYC in america. This doesn't make the Evo X faster, it says Mitsu stopped ****ing us. I do have to say that the Getrag dual-clutch box, while innovative, also turns me off. I want a stick please.

I think a big issue with the Evo X will be what problems arise when making big power with the dual clutch system.

Also, reps to the OP for making me have to translate his post before being able to understand it.

I agree with him^^^^. You need to step up your speaking and writing even if it's casual conversation.
Anyway, the new Evo and WRX have actually really grown onto me. I remember a statement somewhere about how either one or the other or even both are trying to break out of the whole "street racing" type scene that the Evo and WRX are very popular with and try to attract a more mature type scene. Also with all the problems with gas and the environment, maybe a step down is nice off the track...because I guess nowadays the more "mature" scene people don't like high revving engines in the middle of the street...I don't know. I'm not a big favor of the step down in performance but, for that it Mitsubishi is taking a bigger step as a company I suppose...stepping into a more conformed style for their cars.

I think the new subaru looks awesome. A lot of people have been waiting a long time to get an STi version in the hatch. Now that time has come while the Evo is lossing not only looks but it's drive train. The new SI's are nice. But I wouldn't get one over an evo or an STi.

Plus, negative reps for having the worse posting ever.

I think they are both ugly, but thats just me. If I wanted an awd turbo car, I would have to go with the last gen STi. I just love the sound of the boxer engine

i think the new evo would be really nice, but some of my friends think it is ugly.Truth be told, the EVO was never the "looker". The performance was so amazing that it elevated its status in spite of it's "mirage on steroids" appearance. especially the EVO 3 thru 6. :2cents:

Well, they are indeed aiming it at a different audience. They're aiming it at the same people who bought previous versions of the Evo/STi as kids and want a car that's got that lineage without all the "problems" that come from it. And the "street racer" scene isn't new, it's not even remotely so. It started here in the states over 70 years ago, and was biggest 40 years ago when the Big Three were building cars like the GTO, Hemi powered cars, the real Camaros and Mustangs.

If they want to break away from the "street racing" scene then let 'em. People didn't buy the cars because they were fuel efficient, they sure didn't pay a big lump of money on top of the base model Lancer/Impreza to get more cargo space, and they didn't dump cash into the cars to make them a luxury sedan. If Subaru and Mitsubishi want to ignore who buys their cars, that's their choice. The results will speak for themselves, I guess we'll just have to see how it pans out.

ok look here asswipe. like someone else said earlier this is not a ****ing text message. spend some time reading the forums and you will see almost no posts done as terribly as your op or this one so.......yea. Your ethuggery FTL.

As far as the car goes. I like the overall look but the performance is going to absolutely blow in comparisson to the past generations. i would be willing to bet that the evo VI is better than the evo X so if your looking for a car that looks good and performance isn't that big of a deal then get the X but if you want the performance get IX.

NOTE:Take note in the way I post none of the stupid YO YO YO newayZ GAANZTA Bull****z

can I please get a translation so I will know what the **** this guy is talking about? Is it that ****ing hard to spell the words out, or have people just become that lazy? This isn't 1997 and this isn't an aol chat room. Show a little more self respect and spell the words out. enjoy these REPS
