was driving from villa rica to woodstock when my car stalled. wouldn't start and had to get it towed to my house. fuc-king 1.8t's and the whole timing belt issues. checked the timing belt and holy f-ck. i have to take a picture and post it on here, its missing more than 80% of its teeth.

anybody ever changed a timing belt on a 1.8T? common problems? any tips since this will be my first time to change the timing belt by myself. scary ass thought.
taking off the head tomorrow to see the real damage. thinking that at least half of my exhaust out valves are history. who knows. only thing sucks is i have the 225 tt which means everything is a super tight fit. no room to work unlike the hondas everybody here has.

ohhh and my TT had only just now broke 70k miles so anybody out with a 1.8T that has around the same mileage that hasn't changed there timing belt, don't want to end up like me. i was planning on changing it at around 80k miles.

damn that must suck i know what that feels like lol. sorry to tell you but i would check the compression because you valves might have bent your valves, seen it happen before in a 1.8t, it was same excact thing

yea it sucks, lol. yea iam sure that some valves are bent. iam taking the head off tomorrow to check everything out. iam just hoping that not to many valves are bent. dealership parts store quoted me 50 dollars a valve. hahah i have 5 valves per cylinder. iam totally fu-ked.

iam checking ebay out tonight to see about valves for cheap, but if anybody knows of a good place to get parts please let me know. iam in need of valves for a 225 1.8t, pulley system, timing belt, and possible a water pump

my shop hasnt done any TT's but have done quite a few VW/Audi 1.8, 1.8ts, 2.0's, and the larger 6 also. its mainly time consuming.
