Didn't is300's come with the 2JZ-GE? Doesn't seem like its that amazing that someone swapped a gte motor in there. Maybe its harder than it seems though???

The IS is a cramped chassis.... just working on the motor is a *****(while still in the chassis)...

If thats true then it may not be as impressive. I assumed this to be a complete conversion. I think it is the build required making brackets etc. Im pretty sure there was some extreme work done. I'll post the link up to the build later. I'll have to find it again.

i love it for the fact that its all factory looking.... of course minus the top mount. but yes i LOVE the use of the "stock airbox" and "rubber/plastic" coverings... very OEM chic!

Ok this is what the shop said:
We have installed a 2JZ-GTE engine and six speed gearbox from a 1995 Supra. The engine was originally fitted to the car using the original twin turbo sequential ceramic turbochargers. The twin turbochargers were replaced with a single Garrett GT30 475HP turbocharger, a year later. With the modifications we have done the engine produces 450HP.

Now fitted with 2JZ-GTE VVT-i from a 1998 Supra. The engine has a 3.3L stroker kit and turbocharger used is a GT35R 600HP. With this new engine the power is 543 HP at the wheels.

Im inferring this to mean that the original motor was not a 2JZ of sort. Tell me how you read it.

BTW, this came from the website of the shop. Here is the link: http://www.turbofast.com.au/lexus.html

This is a good example of a wire tuck. Maybe clean isnt what I should have used to describe it. The OEM look on what i posted is incredible and that is what I was speaking of. Looks good tho!

Yeah, looks like they did a little bit of riveting work to keep it. The impressive points seem to keep coming. Heres another view.

This actually was before the single turbo conversion tho.

i don't know about ya'll..

but i picture "the cleanest swap" to have a COMPLETE mirror shine polished/chromed engine bay with a complete wire tuck and a behemeth sized turbo to top it off

:goodjob:

Yah, I see that as a different definition of "clean" as I said before im talkin OEM sleeper. Both are cool in their own right. I have appreciation for high quality work. It doesnt matter what car its on or what style its going for. If I had to choose my favorite style it would be OEM sleeper like this. It's a part of my passion for designing automobiles.

So if you think that I wrongly used clean then ok, otherwise I can see this on equal grounds simply a difference of opinion.

What does everyone think, am I alone on this one?

It's ok I guess now that I an see the damn picture but I wouldn't call it clean nor would I call big dare's pic clean. It's been done maybe not as common as in the sc300 but its been done. Would have been better to put a GE head on it though

It looks absolutely shoehorned into that engine bay. It looks like it'd be a ***** and 3/4 to work on. But I agree, it's a beautifully done job. Incredible.
