*** Just to note, I DID a search for this and found nothing, but is probably a repost anyway ***
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
If this holds up to be true, I GOTTA get me one of these....
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/supercars/nissan-gt-r-dyno-475hp-at-the-hubs/
Nissan GT-R dyno: 475hp at the hubs (http://www.motorauthority.com/news/supercars/nissan-gt-r-dyno-475hp-at-the-hubs/)
http://www.motorauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/Nissan/GT_R/Nissan_gtr_main_03.jpg (http://www.motorauthority.com/news/supercars/nissan-gt-r-dyno-475hp-at-the-hubs/)
A few days ago we were talking about Nissan wanting to get the GT-R to an SAE-certified 480hp (http://www.motorauthority.com/news/coupes/us-spec-nissan-gt-r-shooting-for-480hp-sae-certification/) so it would match the Porsche 911 Turbo, one of its chief rivals. It looks like that should be an easy feat if the dyno numbers coming out of Japan today are solid - and it looks like they are. According to testing done on a Dynapack dynamometer, the new GT-R pumps 482PS (475hp) to all four hubs, with torque peaking at 580Nm (428lb-ft) at the hubs.
Assuming parasitic drivetrain losses around 15% - although the loss could be even larger given the GT-R’s all-wheel drive platform - that would put power at the crank around 550hp and 495lb-ft of torque - absolutely insane numbers for a 3.8L engine, twin-turbo or not. Suspicious? Head on over to NAGTROC (http://www.nagtroc.com/forums/R35-Dyno-t20782.html), the North American GT-R Owners Club forums, where poster Chuck H has links to photographic evidence of the testing, complete with shots of the dyno screen.
While these numbers seem to fit more aptly with the GT-R’s 3800lb curb weight and its scorching ‘Ring times, it still seems odd that a car with a drag coefficient of 0.27 would top out at anything under 200mph with 550hp under the hood. Maybe there’s more to this story than meets the eye. We’ll keep you updated as things unfold.
Thanks to Jeff for the tip!

why? it will never handle like the Skyline, the supra and skyline have always been "rivals" but only in a straigh tline.. the supra doesn't handle well at all. Skyline is epitome of sports car.

I heard the same. Toyota apparently has no interest in bringing back the supra right now. It's just a overhyp'd rumor...

Skylines really don't handle that well either. It does pretty well for 3800lbs but I can still pull higher G's in much cheaper cars. Skylines take too much money to make them perform the way they should. They're great cars but its just not worth it to actually own and keep up with one. Everyone loves them till they deal with them every day and realize their shortcomings. The new GTR should be a great car, especially for the money. Its still too heavy for my tastes but I've gotten way too used to sub 2400lbs cars with better HP/weight ratios. Still not a big fan of the looks but it has grown on me over the last few months.

And then they let an insane curb weight kill their game. fkn Japanese never could make a true super car.

New GT-R is indeed a skyline. It's based off the FM platform just like current generation skylines, also uses a version of the VQ powerplant, slightly higher displacement and twin turbo'd, also like with previous skylines...
Reason they dropped the "Skyline" moniker is because of how BAD they F'ED up the "Skyline" name in Japan with the original V35. It had nothing of the original Skylines, and a lot of people were quite upset. So while V35's (And now V36 Skylines) resemble previous skylines much more, the GT-R was developed seperately and taken far beyond just a Skyline Trim-level. It's not just inspired by, but born from. It's essentially akin to saying that a C6 Z06 and a C5 corvette aren't related to say the GT-R isn't a Skyline.

Good find bro :)
475 hp on Dynapack, so that's about 430ish on a dynojet, or about 390ish on the Dyno Dynamic or Similar Mustang Dyno. That Sounds about right for a 473-480 Crank HP that they aimed. But the 4WD will help plant those power to the ground a whole lot better.
Damn, I need at least 200whp more in order to hang with those "STOCK" GT-R when they come out....some one, help me.

On a relative subject, the future supra is still a rumor. A very reliable source told me that Toyota hasn't decided yet because there are so many similarities between the new supra and the lexus supercar that supposed to be rivals to those of Ferrari, Lambo, etc. They just can't afford to make a car almost the same for about half as cheaper than its LF-A counterpart.
