I am looking for a custom color for my vc and the only paint I can find in the right color is regular paint. My question is if I use high temp primer the use the regular paint and the put a high temp clear will it be safe at normal running temps. If not does anyone know where I can get custom high temp paint.

you can practically run any paint on the vc with no problems. the prep work is what makes it worthwhile or not

It won't catch on fire or anything like that? The paint i'm looking at is just regular spraypaint from home depot.

haha I know bucky I was trying to do it a little cheaper. My wife wants pink and the only paint I can find is from home depot. I just wanted to make sure her engine wouldn't catch on fire.

I painted mine the bright pink regular paint and it didnt turn out too good. If it is the florecent paint I would recomend spraying a white base because the pink takes so many coats to show up on the VC and when the paint is that thick it takes longer and if you dont let each coat dry before you spray another it will melt when the car heats up. I wound up scrapping the pink off of mine and just doing it white.
