$150 tip at MF SUSHI Bar.

BIg Baller can vouch for it, he was there LOL. We had a $500 bill IIRC

MOst of the time i tip 20-25% no matter what. if its absolutely HORRIBLE, 10%. i never leave nothing just because i feel if i at least got my food they should get some kind of money. I have str8 up left before (Chillis on East WeSt Connector let me sit for 10min while they were DEAD ASS slow and no one even acknolwedged my presence)

idk about how much...

but this one time me, rush, and one of our friends... don't remember if it was goode or kc... anyways..

we left a decent tip.... but it was all in change and all in random places all over the table.. under the plates.. under the cups.. in spoons sitting on top of the glass... on and under coasters (of course we left a couple bills) and we just did it to be funny.. she was a funny waitress too so hopefully she wasn't too pissed...

no lie though it looked like the scene in ducktails where all the money is in coins and he's just swimming through it... lol!

I was with a friend at a local WH and he left a few cents for a tip - that lady came out of the WH after us throwing change!

I think I've left close to $100 on a big bill, probably the one at Rathbun's or Kevin Rathbun Steak - I try to always tip about 20% if the service is good, and 15% if it's only mediocre.

lol...that's why she worked at waho . I once left Olive Gargen on Pleasent Hill after i crunched on something that felt like small hard grain/rock (when there wasn't suppose to be anything crunchy in the dish)...i returned it dish...got another one....my server came back and started stating (not arguing tho)...there is no way there could have been anything of that sort in the entree i ordered. I didn't feel like causing a scene quietly got up and left before my other order came to table. I wonder how she explained that to the manager.

This is the kinda ish that pisses off servers. Wow

Anyway, the biggest tip I've left was $100 but the biggest tip that I've left on the least amount on a bill was 60.

Ppl that have served or bartended before know how it is and therefore tend to tip more. If you take care of your server, chances are that anytime you go to that particular restaurant you will receive great service and even hookups.

I wait tables at Cracker Barrel and it SUCKS not getting tipped well. An average tip there is like $3 on a $15.00 meal which isn't bad but when ppl don't tip and you busted your ass for them it's a pain in the ass!! I tipped a stripper at Mardi Gras in Marietta like $100 the other day...

Well, i usually tip based on personality and service. If the food comes out a little slow I dont complain. As long as the waiter knows that is is annoying and appologizes for it. I usually tip about 50% almost always. Unless the server was just not very good at all then i go back to normal 15-20%. I just sit back and go..."you just missed out on a good tip"

I've never left zero dollars. as long as i get my food and drink refilled ya deserve something. But i had a bill for like..i think 40-50 bucks which is about average a $10 tip. Ive left $2 dollars. I'm too nice to just leave nothing. :(

Same here - that's how these people make money. That $2.13/hr doesn't cut it alone!

What's fuked up is that people are under the impression that servers make minimum wage and the reality is that servers make less than minimum wage on an hourly basis....Officially, servers are paid 2.13 an hour. However, with tips you end up making 10+ dollars an hour but you have to bust your ass to do that.
What used to piss me off were the ppl who have ignorant views of ppl that work in the hospitality industry. A lot of ppl don't believe in tipping. I actually read an article last year where ppl were saying that if you can't get by solely on your hourly wage then you shouldn't be serving. That's ridiculous.
Ppl tend to talk down to you like you're stupid. I'm not going to say that this is the case across the board but for the most part, most servers are college students trying to get by or working for spending money.

Servers put up w/more crap than the average customer service oriented worker. Ppl go to restaurants with the sole intention on getting free food or taking out their bad day on a restaurant employee, and then there are those ppl who will complain no matter what. As a server you deal with a lot of bs.

Servers, or at least I did when I was a server, hate to wait on rednecks, hoodrats, and teenagers.

and for 2 reasons-most of them are stupid/rude, and therefore poor.

If I get good service, I tip VERY well.
If I get crappy service, I either don't tip, or I let the server pick up the tab.

I left a $200 tip on a $540 tab.
Also left a $100 tip on a $70 tab.
I've left more for friends who were servers, but I guess that doesn't count.

after being a server... and putting up with the bull**** i tip way over what i should. normally around 50 % or below.

I have left a 2 cent tip though. Just to make sure she knew that she was TERRIBLE. I felt bad doing it. I mean she could've killed herself that night, but i also know it's not THAT hard to do her job.

I would hope that no one would kill themselves over not getting a tip because there's always, at least once a shift, that an ass comes in and knows that they're not going to tip you and piss you off and ask to talk to a manager to try to get food. Then the manager gets pissed at you and comps their meal and you still end up with nothing. Maybe that drastic of a scene doesn't happen every day, but it happens a lot more than people think. Most middle class people out there, if they have never waited tables for a living, don't tip that well. I make an average of about 10-12/hr but if everyone tipped 15-20% and didn't leave $1 on the table i'd make a hell of a lot more.

I was just going to mention dinners with Baller. We spend some jack and tip a crap load on top of it. We tip the strippers at the Pony pretty phat, too.

When it comes to bad service, I always tip 20%...I just ***** a whole lot before I do it.
