The South Atlanta experience without going to the Southside....

We all heard it. Those roads you just don't go down unless you're looking for trouble. Add another one to the list. But expect to find it where you would not think to. Parsons Dr. off 141/P.I.B is where. To be more specific, right behind the Porsche dealership.

Jenn and I were coming back from the V and decided to go look at a neighborhood that had a house for rent. After we were done, we took a quick stop at the Porsche dealer to gander a red Aston Martin Vantage. Well, i had the semi-bright idea to go around the side of the building, which was a small side street, to look at the other cars. Well, when we were done, i just drove down the street to look for a place to turn around. I got about 100yds in and we saw a group of thugs standing in a driveway. As we approached them ,they all started running out in the street toward us yelling and waving. My ****ing God, i think they were trying to sell us drugs! Just like on C.O.P.S. when they show undercover stings where someone drives down the 'hood and people come out and flood a car trying to sell ****. So i took off. About 50ft down another one came running out doing the same thing!!!! By this point I'm on an adrenaline rush and getting scared. Turns out the street was a dead end! So i turn around, lock the doors and get the phone ready. I told Jenn "if one steps out in front of me, I'm gonna hit him" (besides, who car the cops going to believe, thugs selling drugs or 2 young adults with no criminal history?). Well, i start coming back up the street with a decent amount of speed and my plans to get out almost went to hell. Two other cars were driving by as i was about to pass the hoodrats. This caused them to run back out in the street in front of me. I had to slow down and kinda weave through them, while they yelled at me and the other car (who stopped). But we made it out. It was ****ing scary. As we left, i grabbed the phone and called 911... i told the operator "i saw a gun and i knew they were trying to sell narcotics".... knowing that the gun part would send an officer out pronto. Buahaha.

Actually, i was NOT speed as i was going down the road in the first place as i was looking for a pace to turn around. So i highly doubt they were "excited" from my passing by at ~15mph.

And Dracc, no im not saying that any one part of it makes for the assumption, but all the ingredients put together make for a very obvious situation.

Why would they be 'playing around' by running up to any car/window that drives through ? The other cars that were coming in as i was trying to get out, were clearly making transactions with them too.

I've been in areas where drugs were sold plenty of times, I can easily and calmly just drive by and mind my own business but when 6 or 7 people literally run at the car and you have no idea if they are about to grab the door handle, it's a little unnerving. I don't give a damn what color their skin was, I know what they were doing. If they were white, asian, mexican, whatever... I still would have not been at ease with a big group of people running at the car and jumping right in front of us. People love to cry racism when there isn't a damn bit of it in the situation.

I don't like being in a small convertible while surrounded by drug dealers that are about 2 feet away from me... fine. Call me a wuss for it, I don't give a damn. I have NO interest in being around that. I don't think it's cool to be a thug or a drug dealer or to brag about being from the hood. I'm not from the hood and I don't want to be.

They did have stuff in their hands and what they were doing is illegal. Plain and simple. I'm certainly not going to argue with someone who is "more hood than me"... am I really supposed to be impressed with that?

We all heard it. Those roads you just don't go down unless you're looking for trouble. Add another one to the list. But expect to find it where you would not think to. Parsons Dr. off 141/P.I.B is where. To be more specific, right behind the Porsche dealership.

Jenn and I were coming back from the V and decided to go look at a neighborhood that had a house for rent. After we were done, we took a quick stop at the Porsche dealer to gander a red Aston Martin Vantage. Well, i had the semi-bright idea to go around the side of the building, which was a small side street, to look at the other cars. Well, when we were done, i just drove down the street to look for a place to turn around. I got about 100yds in and we saw a group of thugs standing in a driveway. As we approached them ,they all started running out in the street toward us yelling and waving. My ****ing God, i think they were trying to sell us drugs! Just like on C.O.P.S. when they show undercover stings where someone drives down the 'hood and people come out and flood a car trying to sell ****. So i took off. About 50ft down another one came running out doing the same thing!!!! By this point I'm on an adrenaline rush and getting scared. Turns out the street was a dead end! So i turn around, lock the doors and get the phone ready. I told Jenn "if one steps out in front of me, I'm gonna hit him" (besides, who car the cops going to believe, thugs selling drugs or 2 young adults with no criminal history?). Well, i start coming back up the street with a decent amount of speed and my plans to get out almost went to hell. Two other cars were driving by as i was about to pass the hoodrats. This caused them to run back out in the street in front of me. I had to slow down and kinda weave through them, while they yelled at me and the other car (who stopped). But we made it out. It was ****ing scary. if you want hood go to East harlem, crown heights brooklyn, south florida, Baltimore, Trenton New jersey,Louisiana and some spots out in philly.....

Even if the cops show up there wouldnt be any problems right? unless they tried acting dumb and pull some ***** moves. So as long as they werent doing anything illegal or anything, they shouldnt have to worry right? Cop would ask some questions, check out the scene and move along right?

Problem with that is there could be VALID calls that require police assistance but instead it is wasted on a false call because someone presumes something suspicious is going on.

I've encountered many of these situations from growing up in NY to University Avenue/Bankhead Highway where my father ran his business's. I literally saw dog fights, prostitution, drug dealers, and gang bangers on a daily basis. Although I don't agree with the false reports, I can understand how this may have scared you, as it did to me my first time. You can just simply wave em off, and thats the end of it.

Then atlanta "hoods" shouldn't really phase you. Truthfully ive been through all of the atlanta hoods when atlanta was in way worse condition(mid 90's) and they didn't really phase me.

when i moved here from illinois('94) and lived in the CP and off of washington road in east point, compared to the way **** was at home i was like "wow, this is nice!" spent 2 weeks in miami later on and when i asked about lil haiti 'cause i had a friend in school that used to talk about it, my older cousin from miami gave me this look like "you trying to die? dont ever say that shat again"

i was like damn, is it like that??! it's like that in miami......cabrini greens in chicago they used to snipe at the cops!! the city bulldozed that shat now lol!!
the last time i went back, seen this dude get stomped out in front a gas station, old ladies and a big azz tour bus!! lol!!
