So I went by Bestbuy and picked up 2 sets of the Alpine Type-R's Component Sets... Well the thing is, its says that it handles up to 330 watts peak power (110 watts RMS)... and so the dude at the department said that the Alpine amp would be fine which I did get. But the amp's specs say that its RMS is 70watts @ 4ohms, And so my question is what kinda of amp should I use to supply the right amount of power it needs or did I already get the right one...? Thanks in a Advance... Reps to everyone

I also heard that under powering is prone to kill speakers...

The Bestbuy link to the items I bought...
The Speakers (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8222318&type=product&id=1166840026793)
The HeadUnit (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8208156&type=product&id=1165610937661)
The Amp I bought just in case its okay to use. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7652532&type=product&id=1134701297968)

Ohh and if it matters, its all going into a 99 Integra... and I also would/should I buy a cap...? Thanks Again...

i am the biggest alpine fan!

i run the v12 digital 4 channel on my type-r components in the front and my type-r coaxials in the rear. make sure you run 2 sets of rca's. it really helps you tune the amp from the driver's seat.

i used to sell alpine at best buy like it was the only brand. worked there for 3 years and wish they could have afforded to give me another raise and keep me on the floor.

Does Bestbuy still sell that amp...? and also I was planning on installing the type-r components in the rear also... or should I go swap them out for the coaxials... ?

they should sell it. ill have to check. i would always install what your car is made for. i've changed things and the regret it later. i have the amp sitting in my shop taking up space. pretty sad a $400 amp just chills on a work bench huh? i'd be willing to sell it if you want it.

i'd be willing to sell it with a transfered 4 year service plan at best buy for $250 shipped

That amp is still available at some locations. I am running that amp on some older (2004) Type-S 6.5"s and 6x9"s and I am VERY happy with it. I haven't heard it hooked up to any R components, though.

the amp you have is fine... it wont run them at 100% full potential, but 70w rms is adequate enough to run them; unless you like rock concert loud which at that point get a new amp

So the speakers won't be harm if I'd use this amp... and what amp should I use that Bestbuy sells, if I want it at 100% Which I think I do...

amp puts out = 70 Watts RMS x 4 speakers @ 4 ohms

speakers can handle = Handles up to 110 watts RMS @ 4 ohms

you can put more power to them if youd like. i have a soundstream that puts out a whole lot more power than the v12. ill check tonight to see what exactly it does. you'd be happy bc your factory radio at most will put 18 watts of rms to each speaker. your amp will do 70 watts of rms. thats a 52 rms watts upgrade! very superb sound!

sorry your cd player does 22 watts RMS x 4 channels so thats a 48 rms watt upgrade.

lol! why not upgrade to their 6 channel amp. it explodes power to all 4 speakers, a mono center speaker, and a sub. about $1000 for the amp and another 200 for the center channel speaker. ill get a link for you in a second.

You can, but it's not gonna work out the way you're thinking. You should be straight with that amp at 4 ohms.

you dont want to deal with the extra wires and series and parallels and crap. the speakers @ 4 ohm perform to their best quality of sound. you'll get too much bass from them if you set them @ 2 ohm. like he said...
