View Full Version : Request: go back to the old color scheme

so I logged in today IA forums today and thought the site was broken..... but nope, it looks like the color scheme was changed, and to be honest, it's no good! It's hard to read text, especially when posting (a grey on a grey blue??), and the text editing icons are un-usable now since you can't even tell what they are...

so my request is to go back to the old color scheme, or allow customization to choose color themes to logged in users!

Thanks for the idea, I think you're the 1st one to think of it.

Why is the background not ALL black? That would help.

yah, i don't have a problem with the color of the background.... just if the other colors were of a higher contrast to it, it'd be a lot betterr.

and i realize some of what i said may just be personal preference, but surely I'm not the only one that doesn't like the buttons being indescernable nor the color of the text in a new post (yellow -- though in a quick reply it's white, which is much better/easier to read)... am I?

I personally like black BG and lime green FG - all of my machines are setup that way.

Can you please just give us the OPTION to use the old default scheme. Pleeeeease??

haha, yah, that kinda helps my point -- while I don't personally like that scheme (lol) it is still easy to read cause the bright green on black is a high contrast :)

yes, the forums and MOST things are white on gray/blue background (high enough contrast for ease of reading), but certain (important) things are not, such as the main links and new post fonts

(and I personally don't like the unmatching scheme, such as the black outlines in some text fields (quick reply and edit post) with red highlighting (when it tells you which thread you are looking at) and yellow post text)

The old scheme was gay - time to refresh things anyway. I do think that we should be able to choose our own skins tho - but the old way was old news - time to regroup and refresh things up here.

I believe vBulletin (what these forums are powered by) have built in options (or downloadable modules) to allow users to use different color schemes

EDIT: yah, you can actually go to your user control panel, and select the fourm skin -- perhaps ya'll could enable the old skin to be an option??

and another point, haha -- when I'm on my laptop, and have the screen brightness turned down, it makes it even harder to read the text :-\ (not sure how many people would be using laptop w/lower brightness....but I do!)

even the importatlanta logo on the top left doesn't look right (tho that's more an issue that it's background isn't transparent) -- again, perhaps just my own opinion?
