I think the poster on YouTube who mentioned that Lexus was struggling with Auto reverse and BMW made an auto-lapper is close, but I will completely agree with him when I start seeing people driving to work reading the newspaper and can feel safe about it.

yeah bmw and lexus' self-park systems aren't really "self-parking" you've still gotta line the car up lol

I think it's a step in the right direction though. Can't go wrong with German engineering

i would just like that feature for daily use so i can blame the car for speeding :D

The car probably is a better driver than we are. Thus it wouldn't get a ticket for speeding.

I'm willing to sell spare organs for this on the Audi. Srsly.

agreed idk if i can leave it up to the car to avoid things in the road
when they design a system that can react and not just memorize then i'll be like "how much?":D

I wanna see how it would react if it lost traction.

good point..it probably wouldn't react very well...i'm sure this technology is still very new...did anyone read about or watch the college competition for cars that had a race by themselves? that was pretty interesting...

Damn man thats ****in nuts. That really is something else, i mean the lexus parallel parking is impressive, but this really makes u think, whats in store for us in the near future.:???: But hopefully, in the future, technology will be at a point where this will be an option such as Cruise Control. :goodjob:lol

But that Lexus parking thing got :idb: by the BImma.

of course you have to keep in mind, this was only tested after being trained to go around a track. I'm sure they will eventually have more intuitive systems that can dodge obstacles/whatever.

hmm, he didn't drift this one. that would be interesting to see how that system would handle that if they trained it for that style of driving.
