View Full Version : Will a D16y7 fit directly in a 2000 civic ex without issues?

Alright so the motor in my 00 civic ex just blew up,I need to no if a d16y7 will drop in without any issues I'm pretty sure it will just making sure, also if i were to get a y7 would i need to get the y7 ecu or would my y8 be alright thanks Mike

You would have to do some wiring, because of the iacv differences. and of course not having vtec.

question... why would you down grade? the y8 to MY knowledge was a better engine...

Downgrading because I found a y7 alot cheaper than I can find a y8, i just need to get my car running agian

yes and no i would not do it. you would need a y7 ecu. your y8 ecu will throw a code for vtec and the knock sensor that are not there on a y7. also the y7 and y8 also have diffrent intake manafolds so your intake will not work as well as other little issues like your th cable no working

I think i talked to you today.

You have to repin your ECU for the 3 wire IAC, and the intake tube is different.

my swap comes with an ECU so i have you covered there and i can show you what to swap out
