which year(s), makes and models of cars are VERY boost happy?? As in, you shouldnt need to perform an engine swap to get some HEALTHY power out of, and that you can just boost as much as you'd like??

Granted, i KNOW that to boost like crazy, an engine build is ~99% REQUIRED but still......just wonderin...

cuz i know there is the eclipse, the 240sx, and the supra....someone care to add to the list??:goodjob:
reps for people that do add on-- Im puttin some thought into a new car...the Honda deal didnt work out...

Just because they'll swap anything into a Honda doesn't make it a Honda engine.

If you don't know, then don't guess. You just gave this guy the most piss poor advice on a boosted Honda motor you possibly could have.

Also, in a thread asking about stock motors, the LS/VTEC does not apply.

Actually the engines in the old t-100 Toyota trucks, can hold a suprising amount of boost on stock internals. I have actually seen someone put down almost 400WHP on one of those trucks (Turbo of course). The Engine code is 3RZ-FE, it is a 4 cylinder that is 2.7 LITERS. The one I saw was the one with the distributor, not coilpacks like the ones that come in the newer tacomas.

Mid 80's mustang svo or cougar turbo? Might find one for around a grand. At least you have a rwd then and you could get parts cheap.. Ive seen vids of them making 400whp on stock 4cyl internals.

Even if you are a twit, here is something to think about. And read.

Im really surprised that only once in this thread i've seen it mentioned.. But.
Dig around for Turbo VOLVO's. You can find old mid-late 80s turbo 740s and such for under 2 grand, sometimes you get lucky and find them for about your pricerange. Or pick up a non turbo and put a turbo motor in it. Probably, being serious, one of your best options for a cheap, tough ass turbo car for cheap.

Or buy an old 325 bmw. They are cheap to find and take to boost well.

Also Rustang was close with what he said. But SVO mustangs are either expensive or beat up. Look for Turbo Coupe Thunderbirds. I paid $1,000 for one i had last year and it was really tough, they have tons of options to make them fast... For CHEAP.

if you do decide to go with an n/a car and then purchasing a turbo kit, I would advise you not to use ebay for your turbo... I bought a turbo kit for my 92 240sx with the dohc k in it..... well it lasted about 3 weeks then the turbo seals went bad, Pipes are okay but turbos not so much.

It was not the ss auto chrome kit.

Supra, 03-04 Cobra, and Grand National are the first that come to mind. These cars are built for boost and can handle pretty good amounts with stock internals..
I've personally had cobra's with well over 800+hp at the crank with stock internals
