Need help uploading mini DV vids to pc in Mcdonough area!

I now realize I am one of those who is doomed with uploading vids to a pc from a mini DV camera :2up:

I have tried a new mini DV camera and a friends new laptop. I have tried both USB and firewire with no response from 2 cameras, 2 laptops, and 2 cables......

I have researched the issue and there are a lot of people having the same problem. There doesn't seem to be an easy fix as usually trial and error (as I have done), disabling/enabling the drive, opening software to read the camera are suggestions. I have tried it all the past 5 days and now I give up. :(

Anyone in the Mcdonough area that is able to upload Mini DV to a hard drive via firewire and can help me I'd really appreciate it.

I just need the video uploaded and then I will edit the races on my pc. Thanks for any help you can offer :cheers:

I thought mini DV was? I am getting a video camera for Christmas and want one that easily can be uploaded then edited on a computer.

try the drivers if you havent already, they help a lot, I know with my Canon Powershot s215, my computer wouldnt locate it until i went to canon.com and downloaded the powershot drivers, loaded right up everytime after that. :goodjob:

IS YOUR computer even detecting the camera?

Try turning on the camera and then plugging in the fire wire into the camera and then into the computer

Tried that. Also disabled/enabled the driver. Tried both USB & firewire.

At my buddies yesterday plugged the camera into the pc using his digital cameras USB cord and nothing. Take my camera off put his on right there and Vista shows his dig. camera :2up: Tried everything, need some to just upload the vids to my jumpdrive as a file and then hopefully I can put them on the pc :gay:

I spoke with JVC / looked at the manual. You just have to set the camera to "play" to upload to the pc.

Both mini dv cameras are JVC

Dude i dont care. im backin up the guy who needs to get his fuknn vids uploaded....if he doesnt like it or doesnt want to help him...why does he have to jump in and ruin ppls day by sayin something stupid.
