how bad is college park? i'm just wondering, it is safe for a white dude to be on OLD NATIONAL after dark? even with a group of known peers?

i mean, i'm just curious ;cause with all the new growth i've seen there and everything, compared to how it was when i moved here from illinois in '94 (there was a double murder in my subdivision the night we moved into it!), but according to what i see, and have seen it's not nearly as hood as it was.

just sayin, and be honest. 'cause i know white folks live there too. always have.

Depends on what part of CP your talking about. I have fam near union city that part is not so bad. but Old national is CRAZY!!! almost every night I go over there there's an ambulance or a million cop cars SOMEWHERE on that street. I saw a dead body in the middle of the road one night......

yep. cp and east point both get a bad rap but they aren't nearly as bad as ppl make them out to be. yeah there's crime but that just comes with being inside the perimeter. id say white ppl are straight pretty much anywhere here, unless you're wearing a klan hood or something.

Not true. There was one time I was absolutely scared to death in the hood, and the reason being was that I was being threatened because I WAS white.

I didn't know that their were homeless people on Old Nat. I thought they all migrate to DeKalb Co. or Downtown Atlanta. Unless your talking about the J's on G Road (Godby for those who don't know). Well Old Nat is pretty long, it depends on what part your on. I'll say that the borderline is the Discount Mall heading towards the bridge and old movies theater. You should watch it back there after dark. After the Discount Mall heading towards Evander Holyfield's house is pretty safe at night. It's not a "Hood" environment over there, everyone just like to act like they're hard: Creel Road, Kimberly Mill, Bethesda Road.

I live just south of CP, its really not that bad. Old National isn't the greatest but I'd have more of an issue with the ****ed up area's of south atl, than CP. and I'm a 20 year old white dude from fayetteville. Then again my family is from the ****ty parts of athens and forest park so im really not concerned with "the hood"..No reason to be afraid unless your acting like a dumbass. or alone walking down the street or something. but in a group of people or in a car, your fine. USUALLY nothing's going to happen.

But I remember going to the sunday night southside meet a while back and some guy shot another guy in the neck and then just started sprayin bullets...that wasn't fun, everyone bailed like when the cops showed up in the fast and the furious.lol.

Wow, that was in Riverdale. I remember when Riverdale was a cool place to chill, meet friends and do whatever. In my opinion Riverdale is worst than College Park :2cents:

I can't really compare any of the "inner" southside to say one is worse than the other. I'll say Everything's pretty grimey on the southside until you get into parts of fayetteville, all of peachtree city/Tyrone, parts of newnan, and on down. Otherwise, its pretty much the usual, "bad to some", on the southside.

Old Nat L...is not bad its never been bad to me. But someone getting shot or hearing gunshots isn't unusual to me either as long as I keep the tooly nearby, so maybe my opinion isn't needed..lol. But its skraight, nothing to bad. J's be out, but you just got to watch your back just like anywhere else.

old NAT and all of CP in general has never been bad, IMO.
now living on washington road from '95-'96?? that was bad....seen a dude throw out some change at a J that was on the sidewalk, some of it fell into the street and as the J went to pick it up, they caught a right fender to the skullet......the driver didnt even stop, and the J??

let's just say they looked like they ran a motorcycle through a TACOBELL at 100+......

It's been a while since I've been in CP, but last time I went was with a couple of friends. We were at Mosely Park and we rode to Frozen Palace because that's where we go after we're done riding around ATL (bikes, motorcycles) to explain when I mean riding. So I'm posted in the FP parking lot and I see a damn flash from the side of my eye, I then noticed that they installed some damn camera at the intersection of Old Nat and Flat Shoals. I didn't believe that at first and then someone told me that its been that way for bout 1 year now. Then the opening of the new Wal-Mart, I remember when it use to be a Winn-Dixie or something I think and then it was the new 20 Grand :lmfao: a lot has changed since I was young.
