Rockfords in a big ported box would be loud. Call Chris at Traffic jams in Buford and talk to him about what would fit...some P series should do the trick. The Rockfords are durable, in your price point, and have a good warranty. A win/win/win

What size are you looking for?
Are you looking for sound quality(SQ), or loudness(SPL)?

kicker gear sounds like a wet fart the day after cinco de mayo. But it does get fairly loud and it is durable.

Kicker, Pioneer or JL is Going to give you the better sound quality and more bass for you money than MTX would. I used to sell and install all of them and MTX is the least quality one

Yes i have experience with MTX, they beat yes i will give you that but when it comes to sound quality and hard hitting Kicker will always take them, Pioneer will even hit harder and sound so much better than MTX. MTX is going to be the next crap subs here soon.

i didnt say have you worked with mtx. have you worked with their new stuff. its a whole new lineup now. the sound quality is pretty good on the new stuff, especially when you pair it up with a thunder elite amp. go to that link...

yea i have worked with there thunder series stuff, i just think its as good as pioneer or Kicker. thats all
if i was in your shoes and was looking for SPL with decent SQ as well i would get an Audioque HD15... my fav sub ever for thundering lows. It's built off the DD9500 series but with better SQ thrown in. Sister company to DD basically (owned within same family)
This is a new JL audio competition 12" W7 sub woofer in an amazing ported box! I've had this in my car for about 3 weeks and just realized it is too loud for me! This was originally purchased for $1100! The sub itself retails for over $800! JL is known for their quality, sound and durability and this sub is NO exception! This is a great sub that is very loud and can be yours for only $600! Thanks for looking! pm me .. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb81/driftdayz/drew12.jpghttp://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb81/driftdayz/drew.jpg

I give prop to him, nice sub and box, i have installed many of these and they sound great, the box is fully designed for that sub and is ported from the top on the inside of the box. Will sound great in any car you put it in.

i second the digital designs dd9515, my best friend had one and it was pretty impressive, but I installed a new JL W7 12" in my co-workers car this weekend with a JL500 sub amp and it may be one of the cleanest and lowest hitting subs Ive heard...

Listen to this man. Resonant Engineering/Fi subs are bar none the best out there for what you pay for. But if you want purely angry, earth-shaking **** then I would recommend Digital Designs, they are absolutely rediculous.

Also a good recommendation, but they won't carry any of the more "underground" companies. My system is all Alpine and I found the best prices for everything on this site, except my subs but I found a pretty insane deal on those. 65 bucks a piece for brand new Type-R 10's. Ebay can be your best friend.
