I love all motor vtec, my gsr is going to stay n/a. valve train and cams is a great hp gain, but watch out for overpowering everything else. just know that everything you beef up has the potential to break something else. i would recommend strengthening a few other things before you go straight for horsepower, like the oil pump, fuel and air regulation, motor mounts, etc. there's nothing like finally putting some cams in just to watch your valves break or your rods flying out the oil pan.

for $1500 i would buy:
HEader like i have for sale- http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145434
Skunk2 Stage 1 cams- $350ish
Skunk2 Intake manifold-$200
Crome Pro ECU-$180
Dyno Time -$320
you should make around 175-180whp aka a 20whp gain over stock

if you're going n/a then upgrade your cams they'll give you the most power upgrade. then again if you upgrade your cams then you need to upgrade your valvetrain as well...

Well, its all on you bro. If your motor is stock, you can boost it. But it won't last that long depending on how you drive. You can pretty much find all the good parts for that price around on sites for sale too. It all depends on how much you wanna spend for hp. Add your price for parts up, and look at parts for turbo. Don't go the cheap way either. Do it right the first time bro.

Good call.
Take your time. Trust me.
If you want to go boost, and be reliable... $1,500 ain't gunna cut it.
Get the Skunk2 intake manifold, header, cams, ecu and a tune, like Mike said.
If having someone else do the labor for you isn't in your budget, try and get all the bolt ons first. Header, catback, intake manifold, aftermarket intake (Whale Penis FTMFW!), throttle body, msd, new plugs and wires, ect.
