Lee :cheers:Interesting but I think driveline parts would be a hell to get...and being supercharged with only 158hp/170lbs-ft torque it would definitely need a swap! Plus that's about 40% the output i'm expecting at low boost ;)

totally right, driveline parts would prolly be a bi+ch and a half to get

yup and the numbers are pretty low stock but hey it has potential. btw i would have loved to see a hatch version of an e30. I use to have a 318ti which is the hatch e36 and loved it.

Now if BMW would only bring the new 135 hatch to the states :(

Lee :cheers:I thought about the 318ti but it just doesn't look aggresive enough to me, kinda girlish if you ask me although i've seen a couple wide body ti's with tons of power but there is no way i could compete with them or their budget. Not to mention the donor car would easily be $3,000-4,000 more to begin with. That cost alone will get me the 11lb twin disc clutch & flywheel package I want and complete race suspension with sways for the E30. So I'll just make my own M coupe! :D

BMW did make a 2 door (2 deure) "touring" model called the stoere that few people in this world have ever seen or even heard of...it's simply a two door version of the E30 station wagon with what resembles the fender flares from the old 2002 Turbo. I'll post pics of it tonight...

What do you mean?
how could the back end of the car be made?
are you talking about piecing together an E30 that looks like this?
if so what car would the rear come from?
or would there be just a heck of a lot of fabrication?

sorry for not reading through all the conversations held up until this point

sorry for not reading through all the conversations held up until this pointah, ok! There's two options...

1) Locate an E30 Touring model (4 door station wagon, see below) and use the rear clip behind the wheels. Considering there's only a very small handful in the US and shipping cost on a parts car from Europe would be outrageous that's not going to happen. They were available in Canada but extremely rare.

2) Shorten an E30 coupe behind the fuel tank door just like people have for years with mini trucks then stretch the C pillar to match.

Before you ask about structural integrity, it will have a minimum of a 6 point cage along with multiple gussets between the body and cage. The shock towers will be tied into it as well so in essence the final product will be a tube frame car...

yes i realize cost = $300,000...... but its ok!lol :goodjob: I wouldn't object to a 275hp 8,500 RPM 4 cylinder engine but for just a tiny percentage of what that one cost I can have more horsepower with TONS of torque and if I gernade the M50 you can always find them all day long for under $1,500. I mean, you can get brand new remanufactured one with all new internals for $1,800, lol...cheaper than Hondas!!

As for the cage, I highly doubt it will ever meet ETCC requirements but I want it to look and work just as good...the question is x-bracing, ladder bars, or both?!

I love the Jagermeister paint scheme, both on the e30 M3 and the Porsche 930/935's, but i'm gonna have to say no unless someone wants to donate the paint and decals! I'd rather keep her really clean looking, just like the interior of the above ETCC car, BUT I want all carbon fiber and black suede inside...

amazing idea. i love it. ive always loved the E30 M3s, and that would be even more awesome. The only cars I really liked in the 80's other than the Porsche 930's were the Group A and B rally cars. Without the visible race improvements, from insane cages to graphics, they would be wolves in sheep's clothing. With what I have planned it will be a Group A Rally car. :burnout:

i always liked Ti's, i have never seen a modded one in person.. i wonder why? They are around, couple supercharged and turbo ones running around Atlanta but they're still gay...i don't know what it is, kinda like a guy driving a newer beetle, something just doesn't fit right.

You don't even see them much on the track which I find strange, I would have thought they could be made lighter and more rigid then a BMW coupe :dunno:

I'm sorry, I'm not at all trying to crap on it or anything, it really is an awesome photoshop, and I mean it is a good looking car, I just don't see why everyone is flipping their sh*t over it.

Is it just the hatchback-osity of it that's causing the love? It's never existed, i just want something that is not common and bmw e30's in original form are all too common for me. Not to mention I love the M Coupe/M Shoe but can't see myself spending $20k on a stock vehicle to use as a play car when I could have a completely built E30 hatch for less.

Honestly I don't even find the car all that attractive but what is comes down to it will basically be a Group A Rally car with the looks and similiar performance of the Peugot 205 T16, Lancia Delta, Renault 5 Turbo, Audi Sport Quattro, etc.

Suspension $2k, custom brake kit $1+k, 193hp/207lbs-ft. donor engine w/ transmission $1,500-2,500+, 11lb clutch & flywheel assembly $1,800, Roll cage $2k+, donor body $500-1k, Precision GT30R Turbo kit w/ Megasquirt <$5k, etc. etc. Then you add in paint and body, details & finishing touches $$$...with a final product equaling 360whp/380lbs-ft. torque (low boost on stock engine) in a 2,200lb vehicle.

Just for a fun little comparison:
2007 997/911 Turbo - 480hp - 3,400lbs = 7.28 Power to Weight Ratio
2007 F430 - 483hp - 3,196lbs = 6.62
2007 Porsche GT3 RSR - 415hp - 2,700lbs = 6.51
2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe - 520hp - 3,153lbs = 6.06
2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano - 620hp - 3,482lbs = 5.62

I'm anticipating 360whp @ low boost of 10psi with full spool around 2,500 RPM's in a 2,200 lb. vehicle = a power to weight ratio of 6.11 ;)
