I just picked up Panasonic 1080 50" plasma this past weekend and I absolutely love it. I have my Comcast HD box hooked into it with HDMI. Picture is absolutely
Now my question is, Im running my 360 through Component cables, and the HDMI cable is almost 100 bucks in stores. The pictures looks great already, will I notice any difference by upgrading to HDMI on my 360? Will the quality affect the HD-DVD player for the 360 if I do decide to obtain one also in the future?

The newer XBox's come with the HDMI cable now, I bought mine right before they started doing that. They are 100 bucks a pop for the cable :(

Can you use a generic HDMI cable with the 360 or is it a proprietary type connection?

I dont play my Xbox that much. also for the first 100 hours im breaking it in. My Panasonic Plasma has some new thing called pixel shifting which is also fight burn in. Im sure burn in is more prevlant in cheaper and older plasmas.

I've heard it is rough on plasmas, period. I visit HD sites often to see what's going on and how-to's for **** I don't know of. It's a popular cardinal rule to not get a plasma if you do a lot of gaming. Even moderate amounts can get you a nice burnt image of whatever. Later, QD.

I play maybe about 5 hours a week gaming on the Xbox. I watch movies and dvd's more though.
