It pretty much comes down to whether you're prefer a giant douche or a turd sandwich. Seeing as how I don't fancy either, and the fact that anyone can see this country going down the sh*tter anyway, I don't bother to waste my time.

Democracy is doomed to failure, as we all know. The Un-united States of America is the modern-day Roman Empire. It was fast to rise, became powerful, and soon it will quickly be destroyed. I'll laugh at the fireworks as this country implodes on itself from some form of internal struggle. There's nothing quite like the death of one essence that brings about the birth of something better.

and that kind of mentality isnt gonna change anything..... the same old idiots are gonna get elected and the same old stupid **** is gonna happen until the US actually implodes upon its own idiocy. yes it will happen unless something changes. A "democracy"....which this country is not anymore, is not necessarily doomed. The idiots who get into office and **** **** up is what makes things go wrong. I dont think liberals should be allowed in the white house, yes i know thats a stretch, but those socialists are whats ****ing this country up. whatever..... this is like beating a dead horse. people will always be stupid.....

stupid people are like cockroaches .....

i haven't voted before. the last election took place before I was able to vote. but you bet your ass that ill be there this time.

Religion will continue to be beat around with government stances, people will always be fickle about military conflicts, Big businesses will keep running things, and the financial stance of this country will continue to degrade. Care for a beer while we wait for the show? :D

people will always be stupid......Truth, which is why they should have no direct influence on the government. :goodjob:

this will be my first time being able to vote, and I believe in the system so Ill definitely be voting. I don't necessarily agree with any of the candidates, but I vote for the one who seems LESS dangerous than the rest and makes more sense, who's more down to earth, not going to raise taxes..that sorta thing. I'm not really Republican, but I'm definitely NOT Liberal. So yeah, VOTING FTW!

Like it or not this country was originally based on Religion..If you believe in some kind of Religion or not is irrelevant..Religion gives basic morals, and values. If you have a problem with this country, and you don't like it, leave. I absolutely can't stand people who knock on this country and its flaws but use and abuse its benefits. The only reason you can run your cocksucker like you are is because of your rights this country gives you.

End rant...

+1 for those who vote!!

sry if I come off a little irritated, im sitting in my sociology class and just got into a big debate.

The only reason you can run your cocksucker like you are is because of your rights this country gives you."Run my cocksucker" is it? Well, now that wasn't very nice. I'll gladly let you know that I don't abuse anything in this country. I appreciate the priviledges I get, but I also use them responsibly. I have full capability of knocking this country and every one of it's flaws. Maybe if we keep pointing out the f*cked parts of this POS society we live in, then maybe something will change. I don't expect it to, but there's a better chance of that happening then peoples "votes" actually putting someone dignified in office. You are right about one thing though, if I don't like it then I can leave. You'll see that I'm doing just that.

sry if I come off a little irritated, im sitting in my sociology class and just got into a big debate. You may have had some form of good standing, but referring to my post as "running my cocksucker" was uncalled for. As a prior serviceman, I'm well aware of the rights and priviledges that this country provides. However, at the same time, I am also aware that this country is promptly eating itself alive from the inside out and will destroy itself in due time. You can have fun in the fire if you want, but I'm outta here.

Sorry about the cocksucker thing dude, like I said, just got a bit heated...Ive been sitting in this class for 2 hours and its still going on.....Im glad you atleast have respect for everything, and didn't come back with some e-thug response. So I apologize for the rude comment, the rest still stands on my end though.

I've been in the same discussions in my old sociology classes and they never ended well, if at all. All they do is put a bad taste in your mouth. If you have faith in the system and believe that it will save itself, then kudos to you. You've more faith than I do. It's just that I, personally, have simply had enough of watching this country diversify itself and fall apart. It's one of many reasons why I'm getting out of here.

also, for those of you who have a problem with us "non-voters", i can only speak for myslef when i say i just dont care. i dont think you should rag on ppl like me who like having some rich bastards run the country one way or another. voting isnt a big thing in my life. i don't complain i just do what im told cause my opinion is just gunna be another complaint so i just follow.

we that dont vote aren't leaders. we just do what we're told and if all fails we're not to blame.

Yeah, im sitting here listening to everyone *****...about Bush, why were in Iraq, etc...Im about to hang someone...

As far as the country falling apart, it definitly scares me. Im not saying its not going to, I just don't see it happening very soon. Then again ignorance is bliss. I honestly fear the day another civil war breaks out or some kind of wmd is detontated on US soil..Honestly, if Hilary Clinton becomes president, no lie im going to Austrailia. Those guys don't play. If you speak of terrorism or going against the gov't your booted out of the country. No questions.

Well if I recall correctly, we do not live in a democracy but actually a republic. Is that correct? And yes, someday somehow this country will destroy themselves. I seriously doubt it will be in our lifetime so screw it and lets enjoy it while we are here my friends.
And as for voting... I really need to figure out if I am registared or not I keep forgetting if I did or not.

explain to me how thats NOT a contradiction in terms. how are you a leader if your not voting and your not to blame because your doing what your told? Leaders lead. If something goes wrong, THEY are to blame. I don't see how in any way shape or form you are leading anything..

I don't vote being as in, this is my first time eligible. Although I feel I'm not going to because then I figure if I don't vote I can't complain about our situation and I try not to take any political side because I can't find one to suit me. People say find the lesser of two evils but I say why when I can just sit back and let the other millions make the group decision and complain about their actions later.

you know I asked my dad if he would move to another country if things got bad here. he said no, because there really isnt any better place. hes right, there isn't. no other country in the world has the kind of freedoms we have here(as temporary as they may be). people say they would move to Canada and ****..... **** that would be the last place id move. for one their health care system is horrendous, and thats putting it lightly( socialized medicine does not work, anywhere). Secondly, Canada does not allow you to have your beloved weapons, and those I am not giving up.

so where would you go man, and why?

Secondly, Canada does not allow you to have your beloved weapons, and those I am not giving up.Lots of places have the same freedoms we do. As far as rights go, your choices of relocation spots are various if you're not picky. There are lots of better places out there, we're just so used to calling ourselves better that we instinctively look down upon other societies.

so where would you go man, and why?For now, I have a great fascination with Japan, Korea, and most of Eastern Asia. Of the three, I'd probably like to settle in Japan. A unique culture, not a bad social structure, and they share many of the same rights we do here. Of course, I'm probably a bit biased due to my fascination, but that's one of the reasons I'm going to walk around Japan and some of the rest of Asia for a bit. I've been to South Korea before and, while it was enjoyable, I wasn't as captivated with it as I was Japan.

I probably wouldn't be opposed to settling down somewhere in Europe either. But again, I've only been there briefly in the past and don't have much knowledge or experience with their culture.

Sometimes I think that I'm somewhat jaded by living here. We do have a lot of priviledges to enjoy, but having to listen to the social and political bullsh*t everyday grows tiring. Truth be told, I don't know where I'd like to go to settle down. Japan would be my first pick as of right now, but I'd like to see the rest of the world before making a decision. As of this message, I'd prefer to be just about anywhere except here right now.

...except maybe the middle east and other hot spots. :ninja:

I vote. I hate giving all my money away to people who don't deserve it. I know there are some people out there who actually need welfare and unemployment, but the majority of the people who are on welfare or drawing unemployment or disability don't really need it. They are just working the system because they are too ****ing lazy to get out and work. Nothing pisses me off worse than knowing there are people sitting at home on their lazy ass while I am at work paying for that escalade thats sitting in their driveway.
