i have an Apexi avc-r and it is not coming on or working for that matter, i was wondering if anyone knows of an online wiring diagram or schematic for this, it was like that when i bought the car and i believe that it is somewhere in the wiring because from what i have seen under the carpet the wiring is substandard to say the least, i have the majority of it corrected now but still need the diagram or schematics for this unit to determine that the wires are indeed where they need to be, i have two red wires connecting to one red wire , and an orange one not being used....any help is greatly appreciated!

Hope this help

From what I see, there is only 6 wires you need to tap: RPM, speed, throttle, injector, power, and ground. Find out your car's ecu pin out and you are good to go.

it has a complete stand alone system...talked to the previous owner and found out that it was working fine along with the turbo timer and one day the battery was dead and it hasn't worked since, im tracing all the wires back shortly to hopefully find a fuse somewhere...when i said the wiring was substandard i was not kidding...

to find all the wire you need to look up the rev speed meter, safc/vafc, and the avcr wiring diaghram on the apexi website. I have the avc-r in my car and have had no problems with it. just double check wires, wiring, and fuses.

i tried tracing the wire back, best i can tell it runs straight to the ignition switch, does not seem to have a fuse present...i did not get a chance to get my multimeter out to check it, if the battery died, and he didn't change the wiring, and it does not work now..and there is no fuse..it must be fried then???

If you cannot even power it up, you are out of luck. Most of the time these things do not has a fuse in it. So it really seems like you are screwed...

The last thing you can try is to hook up the power and ground and see if it even comes on. Use the wiring from the radio just to see if it powers up

will do, my stand alone recognizes it, when unplugged it runs fine, but if you plug it in while the car is running the car instantly drops idle and almost cuts off before catching itself. normal? i will try that tomorrow. thanks
