went to a dealership called cycle specialists, looked at a few used gsxr6's, a couple r6's and a cbr600rr, but this one stood out. i loved it. loved the way it looked, black on black/blk wheels. liked the feeling of sitting on it, everything.

this may possibly be my next large purchase. 07 suzuki gsx-r 600

this would be my first bike.

i know everyone rides a gixxer, but i jsut love it. i guess theres a reason everyone rides them. this one appealed to me more than all the others.

They ride them because Suzuki wins just about every motorcycle event not realizing that those bikes are 100% different than what you buy.

Anyways a new 600(Of any brand) probably isn't a good first bike. They are still very strong and powerful bikes.

For a beginner bike you'd be better off getting something like a GS500, Kawi Ninja 650r, Honda 599, or my favorite the Suzuki SV650s. Those are good strong bikes that handle like a dream. But aren't insanely powerful but still got some good punch.

Or look for an older 600 like a CBR600 F2/F3. They still have plenty of power but you can also pick them up fairly cheap. Usually around $3,000.

good luck on the purchase...black/black/carbon gixxer FTW!! or i may just be a little favored

and also, i've seen road bicycles pass bikes in the mountians, certianlly doesn't mean they have more power...driver=%90 of being "fast" on a bike.

And i am sry but my 1st bike was a 2002gsxr600 and i would of killed myself if i had gotten any other bike under a 600 or that was slower than my gsxr.

If u want to look good and ride nice for the next 2-4 yr's get a nice 600,if u want to buy a bike then resale it a month later get a sv,bandit or those other pos bike's:goodjob:

you can't really say that an SV is a slow bike. the SV is fast. it actually is real fast. it has a different power output than an inline 4 600. the SV's V-twin puts out some good torque. its very smooth which makes it very predictable and easy to put it to the ground, gearing is short. the sv has no top end, but mid-range power is awesome. its just different kind of riders want different kind of power. i prefer having power instantly after coming out of a corner and not waiting till i hit 9k RPMS until my power kicks in. i ride a 05 ZX6R now but everytime i hit the mtns. i do miss my SV. i admit, the SV did feel slow once i hit around 80MPH, it just wouldnt pull as hard anymore. it actually felt as fast my car, but its not meant to be a top speed bike, it actually only tops out at 135mph. but here is the thing, 100% of first riders who actually buy a true 600 as their first bike have no ****ing idea of how to put that power to the ground. the SV is more tame, easy power. a true 600 is not really fast until you get the RPMS going. my ZX6R is slow as **** until i hit 10k RPMS. 1st gear goes to around almost 60 and then the gears are pretty close together. but my point with that is, when ever i get on it 100% i can never keep it under 100mph. for a guy who buys his first bike and gets a brand spankin new gixxer 600 as their first bike is just wanting a death wish.

just my :2cents:

but if you still want a true 600 as your first bike, please do get a used gixxer and not a brand new one. you will lay it down, i promise you. iam talking about just loosing your balance, nothing serious. making a slow corner or something just laying it down. ouch, that will hurt that brand spanking bling bling new plastics.

is it just me or do all the newer bikes from 06 up seem really slow in stock form? I have a 01 gsxr 600 w/ yoshi pipe, power commander, k&n filter 1 down/2 up sprockets and it will blister the new 750's, even before any of the mods the bike still felt faster and has way more tourque than the new 600's. They feel as if there is a major restriction on them up until around 12,000 rpm. I say stick too a 05 gsxr, in my opinion its a better looking and running bike unless you plan on lots of mods.
