when you look in my backyard the only thing that jumps out at you is that tree, it is so ****ing bright :goodjob:

can you do a quick explination of how to do that on photoshop, i know how to isolate sections with the wand but i cant figure out how to keep color on either the background or the picture and do the rest b&w

clean_dodge - simply select the item you want to stay colored. right click. click "select inverse". go to image. then adjustments. then destaturate. and VOILA! black and white :goodjob:

Or just select your item, press ctrl-J make that selected item a new layer, go back to your original layer, and desaturate it. that way you can make changes to your selected Item too. Like changing the color of it, or sharpening etc...

i always duplicate the base layer, then desaturate the new layer, then use the polygonal lasso tool or the eraser to erase the part of the desaturated layer that i want to be colored.
