So I am hopefully days away from selling my truck. I am getting something with better gas mileage, and just more around a better option for a daily driver.
Im leading towards a WRX...
It be would be a daily driver... gas mileage saver and sorta when I feel like driving "agressively" type of car.

Good choice? Bad choice?

Suggestions?

If do not get a subi, I would probably just build another 240. Probably a S14 Zenki RB20, low boost, low tune.

That's not entirely true. it's all a matter of driving sensibly and staying out of boost. You'll be getting about 25mpg on the highway and 20 in the city if you don't drive "like an *******."

At least I see these kind of numbers on my 08, and the turbo makes boost at 2500rpm. So I'm even on boost quite a bit.

I honestly drive very moderately other than when I absolutely need to get somewhere IE the hospital or something.

But also, you have to consider my best is 18 on the highway and 14 in the city in my chevy. It burns a nice hole in my pocket.
I asked a couple guys and they said up to 30 mpg on the highway and a little over 20 in town. Granted these were the 2.0s not the 2.5s.

I had a friend who had both 04 and 06 WRX. The 04 has sh*tty mpg (20-23). The 06 has better (23-26), but still not good mpg. But the other thing he told me was that if you get a ECU reflash / Rom tune, you can get a couple of mpg (they run rich as hell).

If you do not mind the look too much, I would say get the 06 because bigger displacement with better gas mileage, bigger and better brake (4 pot front, 2 pot rear).

just don't mod it and you'll be okay.

Hmm... Well I would be getting the "bug eye" style with has the 2.0 right? I don't like payments, I pay **** off when I buy it.
And no modding?.... No can do haha
I would definately be modding it but for a low to moderate tune. And if you say these motors run rich, well Im sure that can be taken care of and run more efficiently and maybe get a few horses outta it.

Lol at all of these WRX and gas mileage dont go together comments. I'm lucky to get 15mpg, highway or city.

They're fun cars but if you're looking for something to save money with look elsewhere. Premium gas and AWD suck up gas like a hoover vac.

U wanna save gas buy a corolla! serously i think its all how u drive, if you drive any car like you stole it, of course its gonna eat gas! but if you drive your daily driver like i do, which is like an old lady, gas will last you a good bit!

I drive quite moderately. If I can squeeze 25 mpg out of a car I would be very happy. I get 14 around town in my rig.

Dude, to answer you original question. Yes, a Wrx is a very fun car to drive and own. Depending on what you want out of it, its a great daily drive and with acouple mods a perfect car for track events and on weekend fun. I drive an 06, and even with just EM(engine management) downpipe and exhaust it was a blast to drive, had enough torque to pass slow traffic and quick enough to beat anything below 230whp.

Gas, if thats really something you're worried about. Get a Civic.
