My only suggestion is that you remove the "LS1" stickers from your Z28. Other than that, good luck with the Civic.

i've thought about shaving the moldings.. not sure if i wanna get that involved...
MikeyPrzy:
i wish i had kept the 4 door... i regret selling it... a lot...
99ExDriver:
After the color change i'm gonna make it my autocross toy. Had some ground control coilovers w/ koni yellows on my '99 Si and my '90 4 door... think i'm gonna go that route again. As for the motor.. i'm playin around with a junkyard turbo kit till the motor pukes.. then do a swap
nreggie454:
i'm not a fan of the "LS1" either... the previous owner thought it would be an awesome idea to put stickers on... airbrush over it.. and then clear over the sticker... so its a LOT more involved than just peeling them off... they would have been gone on day one if it was as easy as a sticker

why not just go ahead and sand it and color match and have it done..it shouldnt cost no more than $200

You gotta be careful tacking it on though because the heat can warp the thin door skins. Grind down the welld and lay on some filler over the new strip then spend a few hours sanding it all down.
If you're putting on a turbo I doubt it will do well in Auto-X, you'll HAVE to put an LSD in it or it definitely won't ever get traction coming out of a turn.

a few reasons actually... its too close to the door to do a proper blend on just that pannel.. i'd have to burn into the door... plus its silver and has a heavy metallic.. so it'll never really match up as well as it does now.. and i'm not ok with that.. trust me i've gone over this **** in my head many many many times.. and its just not worth all of the extra effort for a little sticker

I know what is involved in shaving it.. but thats too much work for something that doesnt look all that much better than stock.. i'd rather just put the molding back on and not risk warping the metal
as for the autocross.. it'll do just fine with a turbo and open diff... just cant go with a big top end turbo.. gotta go with a much smaller unit with a quick spool. i co-drove my friends open diff turbo GSR in michigan for three years in autocross with no problems.. its all just for fun anyways

thanks man... the borla cat back with mac midlength headers and y-pipe was definily a good choice... i have a HUGE exhaust leak that is pissing me off tho.. but living in an apartment makes working on your car really hard... 'specially when they yell at you for just changing your oil..
