SO IM GOING TO COLLEGE!!!!!

well lets see where should I start this.... Im now 26yrs old and have not set foot inside of a school in over 8yrs. I have spent the past 8yrs in the military and only have 2 more left in the Reserves. I just think that I need to use the G.I. money while I still have it. I mean to admit I am kinda scared about it. lol. I really don't know why or anything. Its just that I kinda have no idea I guess what to expect. After loooooooong talks with my family and everything they think that it is the best thing for me. Im kinda like "HELLO IM 26" I guess that its different for me due to the fact that I don't want to live "the college life" if you know what I mean. I going to go full time and everything also but not living on campus or anything like that.


Do I have any reason to worry?

i applaud you, alot of people don't ever want to go back, they feel its too late. its never too late my mom went back when she was 36. its going to be a little weird i'm sure but honestly good for you! great step if this is what you want to do!

I don't think u should worry.. i go to Georgia state and there its so diverse there and the age range in incredible there are 80 years old at GSU! I'm serious there was an article on it! 26 isn't a bad age.. like pure jdm.. it's never too late to go to school at least u are attempting to go

yea I mean I know im going to go. Due to the fact that I have almost 60k throught the military for school. I mean I have a great job now and everything. I know that I dont want to stay at it forever. I guess when you have to step into a new world where you have never been before its kinda strange. I mean I was also told growing up that when something new arrives and you get the chance to try it or do....go and do it. You might look back in the future and kick yourself for not trying.

yea this was one of my dads wishes for me before he passed away.So I know it is something that I want to do. I remember 2yrs ago when my little graduated from Auburn and my father was so happy about that. And he wished that someday he would be able to see me do the same thing also. So I'm also doing this for him cause it was a wish and also a dream for the both of us.

Good move man, an education will take you far for sure. Also very noble to take go through with it for both yourself and for your father. I don't think the age thing will be a big deal at all. Best of luck.

i didnt go to school for 4 years because i joined the military too. i decided the military wasnt what i wanted to do for the rest of my life. i just started college and it feels great.

Don't worry about how old you feel in school, a recent studies show that the percent of older people go to school has increase dramatically. I see moms/dads/ grandmas, and grandpas in my class all the time. They actually studies harder and get better grades then most of the younger student.
Good for you that you going to college, you will have something to fall back on encase something happen. Even if you don't like college at least you know you tried it, and it wasn't for you.

If you're worried about having a memory shut down on classes since its been so long, you should also not worry. Everything is basically by the book and you memorize as you go! Good choice!

Don't worry about your age. The way i see it, most people there just to get their degree. They don't have time to care about another persons personal info, which is high school stuff.
