lol almost 300k miles and it has been abused.. i don't know if it is just the clutch or the whole tranny.. but it makes a funny whitsling grinding screeching sound when the clutch is engaged... i know the cutch is going out but i don't know if this is just the clutch as well.. but yeah any suggestions?

bearing most likely.

I have an Accord with 344k on the Tranny and around 41k on the engine. Tranny has a new clutch - it shifts perfectly

sounds like it might be the input shaft bearing. Does it get louder when you accelerate, then let off the gas (probably loudest in 1st gear)?

just get a new tranny, and a good clutch. I'm pretty sure just about any hydro D series tranny up to 2000 will fit. I would also go with an Exedy stage 1 clutch. I have had a few and they seem to last the longest.

you may be able to find a jdm D15B VTEC transmission. I think it was avaliable with LSD.

You said "engage".....to you, does that mean clutch pedal pressed, or not? If it only happens when you disengage the clutch, it would most likely be the throughout bearing (or release bearing). Continue with the clutch replacement, which includes a throughout bearing.

kool kool preciate the info guys it'l be a little bit before i get one but yeah i am about to order a exedy stage one in a weekA stage 1 is basically a stock clutch, so don't spend a bunch of money on it.

A stage 1 is basically a stock clutch, so don't spend a bunch of money on it.

an Exedy stage 1 is NOT a stock style clutch. They make a Performance replacement oem style model, but the Stage 1 is made to handle more power and torque. The only similarities it has to a stock clutch is that it is a full face sprung hub clutch, which makes for smoother engagement and disengagement than a pucked design. It has a good deal more clamping power than stock. Go with the Exedy stage 1 unless you are planning on making more than 200whp.

either way the trans has to come down, so check out how bad the clutch is and determine whether or not the trans is bad.

eh i figure go ahead and get a tranny that has under 100k miles and not close to 300k and has not been molested like mine lol
