Been at it since 10am this morning and the motors in and all connections are done except the vtec wiring. All thats left in the engine compartment is. Vtec wiring harness, axles, turbo, intercooler pipes, valve cover and oil in motor and transmission.
At 10 this morning

The interior is another story. I still have the cluster wiring to do and I also have to tie the engine harness into this mess of a wire tuck I did. I really need to clean this up.

I'm still working on her as I type. Been at it for over 12 hours today. Probably have a few more hours of work before I can try to start her up. I feel myself getting slower and slower as I work but I'm going to push on and try to start her up tonight so I can be driving her tomorrow.

:bump:ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!:bump:
She started on the first try and is running good. Its idling low once the temps come up but its running. With no speedo the computer keeps activating the launch control then the CEL come on for the speedo and it drive good. Its running rich on boost but thats normal for a fresh motor that was tuned on the verge of dieing I guess.
Here's the video for the 1st start up.

thanks.
I put about 5 miles on it today and its running good but idleing like crap. bouncing from 1000 to about 200. But I'll get if fixed and running 100% soon. I can't wait to throw some more boost at it.

I'm thinking about calling in to work tomorrow and just driving around taking pictures of it all day. I got a full tank of 93 and I want to drive it so bad.
I did find a problem with my car a few min ago. The waste gate line where it conects to the intercooler pipe is cracked. Got to fix it tomorrow.

This Integra cluster is pissing me off so bad right now. I can't get the damn speedo to work and I have no ideal why. Going to get another VSS tomorrow and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't I'm going to go over all the wires wire by wire and if I still cant get it to work I'm putting the CRX one back in.
Also got the water line fixed so hopefully I'll be able to put some miles on her this weekend. It will be hard to drive with out the speedo because if I go over 1/2 throttle the launch control kicks on. After about 10min of driving the CEL comes on and the car acts normal.

Mad Mike
03-12-2009, 12:35 AM
Well I found out why the speedo wasn't working. I shorted it out and fried the VSS.
I went threw all the wires and couldn't find the short so I rewired the cluster and reran all the wires to the VSS and still couldn't get it to work.
I did get it to work using a old crx speedo. I wired the new clusters speed input to the output of the crx on and they both spin at the same speed.
My drill doing 66MPH.

Mad Mike
03-18-2009, 09:21 PM
I've had mixed advice on how to break it in so I started off slow and made sure everything was good and started driving it like I will normal just easy and not boosting much if at all.
Only problem so far is the 3 front bolts that hold the VC on are striped and leaking oil. Not much but its still a leak and the only leak.

Found a pin out for the 94 integra that told me witch pin on each plug did. Then found a pin out chart for the 90-91 CRX and matched them up. The hard part was the VSS(vehicle speed sensor) its electric on the 94 integra. I wires it up and it started smoking. I ended up using the speedo from a CRX cluster for the pulser and wired it up between the integra cluster and the wire drive on the transmission. I wish I had done it that way to start off with I would have saved myself $30.

Well sh!t... I pulled the turbo off my car and put the stock header on and guess what??? No smoke at idle. I let the temp come up and still no smoke.
The oil drain on the turbo is soaked so that leads me to believe the drain collapsed in the bend and caused the oil pressure to get to high for the turbo seals.
I still got to get it back together and drive it around to see if its the turbo for sure. But it looks like I'll be N/A for a while.

Well I messed up last night. I lost it on a mountain run and messed up my car a bit. So far it looks to just me cosmetic and it could have be much worse.
Took a look at the crash site this morning. Last night the black marks were much better. But you can see how far I slid and how close I came to hitting a 4x4 post and a large concrete ditch.

It could of been a lot worse.

Didn't need the ABS or srs lights no need for them. the seat belt lights not used because the seat belt wires were all cut and removed from the car when I installed my seats. The Door light doesn't work but I have an interior light so it wasn't really needed. The trunk open lights does work.

how did you get the turbo and vtec to work together
Mad Mike
06-06-2009, 10:58 AM
They work well together. I had the ECU tuned and it made them work smooth. They work weather its tuned or not but having it tuned makes them work together to make the most power.
redblackfan
06-06-2009, 11:22 AM
every read i found on vtec and turbo says it will blow your motor
Mad Mike
06-06-2009, 11:26 AM
all vtec does is open the 2nd intake valve and add more fuel at a certain RPM. As long as its tuned properly and you motor is in good shape it will work fine.
teh_mugen18
06-06-2009, 11:28 AM

^^^
How do you think that the LS-Vtec turbo motors usually put out ~4 - 500hp if it were to blow it up??
redblackfan
06-07-2009, 06:45 PM
If you are using a 94 and up tranny in your CRX, would you have as many problems as you did with the VSS
Mad Mike
06-07-2009, 09:30 PM
The D-series VSS will fit into all of the D-series transmissions. It was the wiring that burned up the VSS something was shorting on to the ground circuit and frying them.
redblackfan
06-08-2009, 07:48 AM
Sorry I mean if you used a 94 and up integra tranny?
Mad Mike
06-08-2009, 10:19 AM
It cost to much to make them work in the 88-91s to make them worth it for me.
redblackfan
06-08-2009, 03:04 PM
the VSS on the integra tranny should go right to the speedo right no conversions right if you had a motorswap and the motor was a 94 Gsr and so on
Mad Mike
06-08-2009, 10:23 PM
I'm not sure
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 10:25 AM

I ripped the A/C out the day after I bought my CRX.
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 01:40 PM
ok why but could you fit it in there with that full size rad and intercooler
Mad Mike
06-18-2009, 01:47 PM
Yes you can run A/C with both. But mine was broke and its pointless weight. I have windows and a sunroof. Plus the A/C system weighed over 46LBS thats not including the fluids.
All you need is a a/c computable manifold and downpipe.
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 02:02 PM
so the condenser will fit between the intercooler and rad(can't spell)
Mad Mike
06-18-2009, 02:03 PM
yep with plenty of room
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 02:10 PM
did not know it weight 46 lbs but its not like i am racing and do you have a slim fan or reg.
Mad Mike
06-18-2009, 02:12 PM
2 slim fans both wired together and they run off the stock thermal switch.
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 02:15 PM
cool so i might be able to fit two slim fans, a full siz rad, and a B18 with turbo
Mad Mike
06-18-2009, 02:22 PM
I mounted both the fans on the front of the rad to give myself more room.
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 02:23 PM
then that means you wont have room for ac right
Mad Mike
06-18-2009, 02:28 PM
you can mount the fans on the a/c condenser pushing the air threw both the a/c and rad. and still have room for the intercooler.
redblackfan
06-18-2009, 04:07 PM

It was a sweet teg fa'sho.. we kept getting spanked (when we could go fast) by a black evo with like 400hp LOL
It was soooo fun though. It would have been nice to have it again this year

Sold this car to a buddy of mine. Liking the bike? Steve already stripped the hood, and is taking the trailer hitch off. I think he plans to b20 swap it.

cool. yea I'm liking he bike. I've already lowered it, striped all the stickers off it, fixed the small oil leak, ordered the undertail/finder elimination kit. Hell I've put almost 300 miles on it in 2 days.
