its not a GSX....were talking bout the FWD eclipse...the celica just jumps out at u next to those cars,it just looks better...but the 5afe makes bout 140-50hp...and id say it weighs round 2700 pounds....and my celica handles damn good...and my other 2 cars were a Miata and RX-7 so i know bout nice handling cars:D

oh........ bleh, I still love my RWD. Ok, now that I know that the above Eclipse is FWD too and I HAVE to pick one. For looks alone, of those car's I agree on the Celica, at least it looks like a body style that supports RWD.(no it's not just because you drive a Celica and I' a suck up, I really do like the car, especially that body style)

i would say eclipse but thats only if you enjoy fixing your car every weekend other than that id go with the celica. but one question do you need four seat? if not then why not put the miata up there?

it's compact, and it's sporty, but technically it isn't a sport compact. It's more sports car than it is what people think of when you mention a "compact" (ford focus, honda civic, mitsubishi galant, etc. mostly sedans or 4 seating coupes on occasion)

neons are good for aftermarket and are light, civic's are better for aftermarket and are lighter, but lets be honest, everyone in this world has a 9 second hatchback in their backyard now-a-days. if you wanna be different i'd get the neon.

if you cover the back end of the Sentra with your hand, it looks like a truck....... I know it's random but it just hit me

sentra was the only car @ the time that was competing with BMW's audi's and other cars @ the time that were way above it's price range.. only car in that group that came with an engine capable of 350 with stock rods... but since there are no HUGE MODS, it did come with a LSD...the eclipse is in a class of its own with a turbo, the VW doesn't respond SUPER well to mods, and the celica is a nice car but i think the SE-R year to year would run it on the track especially.. just my 2 pennies
...he did mention straightline runs, stock for stock correct?
am i the only one seeing the magic vr6 of the v-dub?
It gets my vote in a straightline going by the parameters established. :)

I would go with the honda. They're incredibly screwed together, and they're pretty sorted right out the box. The suspension, motor, and the overall feel are just great if you get a good one. Plus they rev to the sky and back. Also, parts are RIDICULOUSLY available.
Aside from that, I've seen some pretty decent power out of that generation of eclipse. I met a guy recently driving one in flat primer grey pushing about 300whp. I was impressed. He had the AWD model though.

You know, the Neon R/T ACR would've taken all these cars right out the box with relative ease. So that's the car I would put my money on when it came to overall tossability. Those things weren't no joke back in it's day.

the celica is so weak that their are no specs for it... lol
what about a 92 GS-R??
the 92 gs-r is a car that almost noone has, ive only seen 1 in my life..lol and i tried to make it as equal as possible with cars that wher popular back than. i handicapped the integra and didnt put the 94+ in it would have been a landslide...
My pick stock, would be the Se-r..like others said...
all those cars have great attributes..
Se-r - great motor/great chassis/great suspension/ alot of aftermarket motor wise, a few motor choices, srdet and srve? (correct me if im wrong)
Escort Gt - Great motor/good chassis/great suspeenion//brakes alot of motor aftermarket/ alot of cheap swap options (bpt-klze-FsDe-Fe3
civic Si - no need to even mention the possibilty
Gst - great motor but not as reliable, alot of all around aftermarket, looks like a heavy car, dont know how well the gst handles, not as reliable.. relly no need to swap motors! good power!
Integra - light good motor tons of aftermarket, the gs-r should have sold more Gs-r's!!
Golf - good power, alot of aftermarket, alot of swapability... good power, doesnt look too light (2dr), never heard of golfs really bein track cars tho..
neon - great out of the box car, good motor, good power, tons of aftermarket, very common track car.. few swap options _na 2.4 stratus motor, srt4 swap.
Celica - The alltrac is too bad ass... :D
