I'm assuming that you are talking about a G35 coupe? The back seat in a G coupe is more like a padded shelf than a back seat. You can't exactly fit anyone besides a kid back there comfortably. The RSX is pretty much the same way.
So basically you are comparing 4 two seaters as far as comfort. Just because they have back seats doesn't mean they are actually functional LOL.
My choice would be the G35 Coupe. The S2k is fun, but too small interior wise for me. The RSX is not very exciting to drive (even the Type S isn't all that IMO), and I don't like the outside of the 350z.

350 was called one of the top deadliest cars which is the cause of the high insurance rates. G35 was called one of the least deadliest cars and im pretty sure the insurance rates on that compared to the 350 is like night and day. Also having backseats helps you out in the insurance department.
also where did the S2K and RSX come from when you're thinking about 350s and G's??

the cars are all different. he needs to test drive each one. he'll have the most fun in the 350. the s2k isnt made for everyone. G35's are WAY over priced and for the money u save buying a 350, u can mod it a little quicker. an RSX just doesnt fit with the other 3.

I would personally get the G35. I've driven the 350z and it's roomy, but just not roomy enough.
To me it's like a weekend car, while the G35 can be both the weekend and grocery getter if you wanted. :D

if i remember correctly...right when the g35 came out car and driver compared the two (350 vs G) and as far as the stats go then, they were relatively the same price except, the g35 was faster and it came stock with all around brembo brakes. if none of that helps, considering infiniti and nissan are the same company, and infiniti is the "luxury" company, i'd still choose the g35. its like comparing chevy and cadillac...
ur choices are too wide
350-g35-rsx-gli, if u cant afford a g or a z why even consider a rsx or gli...

I like the G, the back seat is not that bad, compared to the RX-8. I fit, two 6ft tall people into the back of my car without any problem. Well, it's kinda Biased since I own 1.
However, it's very expensive to play with. For the money, look, etc. I say go with the RSX. You can make that thing fast and look really nice for a fraction of the price modding the a Z or a G or an S2k.

rsx doesnt fit in there really..
i'd say s2k
but i also think you should consider an rx8 if your looking for space
RSX is front wheel drive and a hell of alot slower than all these cars. i dont know why you would be considering that and those other 3.
if you want a fun/moderately quick ( or fast if you get a 2007 350z )/good handling car.
it's 350z. S2k is also a good choice, but just not my favorite.. i can barely fit in it.. and it's not as fun to me.

Most of you guys are talking about the old Z with the VQ35DE engine in it. The new Z(07) has a new engine, the VQ35HR. That thing is a BEAST. If you only need two seats then the Z is the way to go.
On the other hand, If you want 4 seats id go with either the NEW G35C or an IS350, those are quick

I would go for the s2k. Even in stock trim you can have a ton of fun with it. It has a built bottom end from the factory so you can boost it without to much of an issue and go up to 500+ whp without changing rods or pistons. The 350z and g35 are based on the same frame and motor so its kinda tit for tat. One is more luxury the other is more sporty but they sound the same as far as exhaust note. Take them for a test drive but don't get the new CR ediition s2k its just plain ricey.

Well i can say i love the rsx type-s i drove overmind's ap1 loveds it to,the handle of it was the best thing ever but after a couple mod's i had done to my s i think i would of walked the s2k he had.
On the other hand the 350z nice looking i think, faster than the g but does not look as good, handles ok but after riding in my boy's it was just way to slow for me,it would need some major work to get it were i would want it,
So my choice for u would be the s2k,WHY? cheaper to mod than the g35 and the 350z and it handles way better than the type-s, and if it is a ap1 yes the 9k redline is like hitting the g-spot on my girl it get's the job done quicker.
Here was my s:goodjob:

you have to build the internals on the s2k to get that much power.. not to mention the rear diff snaps at about 350whp.. it's much more exspensive to mod an s2k than a 350/g35. and stock for stock the 350 is faster.. and the 07 350 is ALOT faster.

umm an evo? lol
Between those i'd pic a Gcoupe, i don't like 350's and G's aren't that much slower so why not look good in a slow(er) car? An evo for the money though..or something else.

G is always my pick. It is a better looking car, you can fit more people in there if needed. It is not slow. You can say the same to a RSX, but it cannot be compare to the other cars you mention.

SethFirst of all, what exactly are you looking for in a car? As far as performance, looks, handling, ect.
Will this be your project car, or just a daily drive with alittle bit of power to play with? Either way, the Rsx can't compare with any of the cars, not stock atleast. The G35 is nothing more than a wannabe 350z, the S2k is from what I heard a really nice, fun car to have. IMO it looks alot better than the others on your list.
But it all comes down to taste. Its what you want.

RSX off the list, i hate 350z interior (no room at all, but to be fair im a big guy 6' 280)
G35s f-ing rule, look 10x better than z, more roomier (not huge amounts but enough to make it pleasent)
I really dont know about the s2k, i have never driven/worked on one (im a tech at a nissan dealership, i do at least 1 z or g a day lol) but i have considered getting one, they are sexy with the right wheels

The S2K is the best driver's car out of the group - has the best balance easily.
The 350Z has more power though and still is a very good performer. Got to love the torque.
The G35 is a better daily driver, and is just classier all around.
The RSX is wrong wheel drive.
The question is - what are you going to use it for?

I wasn't saying all of that. What I was talking about, or trying to say is that the G and Z both have the same motor/drivetrain but alot of people always compare both, and the Z always wins. No matter if its on the track or street, the 350 is a better car all around IMO. No matter what you say, stock for stock the G will never beat the Z. And a Z has always been a roadster, ever since the first gen Z's came out. Sure they did a 2+2 z32 but that doesn't mean Nissan was going to make the same mistake on the z33.

So what? ONE MORE TIME: THEY ARE MARKETED TO TWO DIFFERENT MARKETS. The G is heavier, has better interior, looks better, and sacrifices a little performance TO APPEAL TO A HIGHER CLASS MARKET.

all the "looks better stuff" is totally opinion based. some people want that sports car feeling.. which the Z delivers.. and especially on the outside.. i HATE the front of a g35.. but the side/back are sexyyyyy. it's all opinion based. but factually the Z is a better all around vehicle.

Actually they are two completely different cars. The Murano is built on the Maxima platform and the FX is built on the G sedan platform. The G and The Z (Along with the FX and new EX XUVs) are all built on the "front midship" platform. The point is even though they are on the same platform and share the same engine/drivetrain, they are NOT the same and don't perform the same.
And if you think a stock 350Z pulls more chicks than a stock G35 Coupe, you are living in your own world where the color of the sky is not blue. :lmfao:

And if you think a stock 350Z pulls more chicks than a stock G35 Coupe, you are living in your own world where the color of the sky is not blue. :lmfao:You're getting pretty old, so I can understand you not being able to read my post, the way they're supposed to be read. How about you put on your glasses so you can read things the way I do! 20/20.
Where in my post did I say that a 350 could pick up more chicks than a G35? Chris, not sure what you're trying to prove here, but it aint working. Both cars, get the job done. This guy might be wanting more performance than luxury, he's not 30+ so im sure he doesn't have to worry about all those extra little buttons and not being able to pick up chicks.

S2K, 350z, G35 - you can't go wrong. All are nice and requires a bit of money to mod (350z and G35 costs a lil more, trust me, I know, I own a G).
Between a G and Z, I choose the G because I need backseat, and the G is much more classy upper class. The G is a lil heavier, so handling and power is a lil less compared to the Z. But it has more pros to outweight the cons. Nothing a lil power adder and full race suspension setup.
But each car is different. So one G may win against the Z, and lost against the other. My G dynoed better than some Z with similar mods. It's also the driver's game.

I'm trying to prove that you are wrong and I am doing it. the G is not a "wannabe" 350. They are two different cars that cater to two different markets. And yes, you made a statement about pulling ho's.
And what does age have to do with anything? That just proves you have nothing to add. Everytime you run out of stuff to say you make an age wisecrack.
Of course, I expect nothing less from a KID driving a WRX.

I have ridden in both. And they're really not that much diffrent. Sure the G has alittle bit more fansier accessories, but this kid isn't looking for all that. He's looking for what will help him get laid and maybe have alittle fun with.
Your opinion is that the G35 is better, ok. Thats cool, but "IMO" I think the Z is.
Im sure just like the Z and G they have some diffrences. We're heading in another direction, stick to the subject.
No they aren't that much different but the i like to make this comparison
The 350 is uglier but faster-comperable to a camaro
The G35 is sexier but heavier, better interior-comperable to a 04 GTO.
Camaro's and Gto's argue over that all the time..just like Z's and G's. Same motor..ones faster, ones sexier.
Get the G35.

I love everything about the car except the weight. Exhaust tone you can't get anywhere else(except 350z). To me it looks better than the 350zs ,no offense to the vq bretheren (sp?) As far as handling, the s2k has got us beat unless you get a suspension kit, but will prob still not be as good because of the weight. The car feels solid........ and the exhaust note, did I mention that???!!!

I second that. I've driven each one of those cars listed and not one felt like the G. The little power that we have is there when you need it. The car looks good day and night. Better looking than the Z, in my opinion and the backseat is big enough for a grown person. Now this car may not be designed to fit 3 to 4 people for a road trip, but it does have the space needed for 2 people w/o a problem. 350z is perfect if you plan on using it on weekends, on the track or if you a lonely person and travel by yourself more than most times. S2K is a nice car but isn't balance good enough. The stock power band is wide but not strong and its handling is pretty good for being a short wheel based car. The RSX...well its perfect car for your girl. Not very exciting or attractive to drive. Everybody has got one, and as for being a Honda, you'd have to drop some serious cash to stand out from the rest of them. If you'd like a better look at these Gs and Zs, PM me for details on our monthly meets. Good luck on your sale.

Well anyways, back onto topic. At first I wanted a G35 so bad. They are awesome, more luxurious then the 350 and pretty much give you the same power. The 350 is a very popular car on the road now and I try to be different, then again so is my S2k, at least in georgia (not in ohio where im originally from). The RSX Type S is the same, but then again it is very powerful for the money and i love K motors...mmm. S2k, my baby. I love my car man, vtec is digusting with my set up (headers/full exhaust and intake)but dont get me wrong, its good stock too;) . I cant wait until i can afford a turbo kit! But there is no room at all. Its a jet cockpit, no joke. Everything is for you though. Its made to comfort the driver, which I dig. My car sits 29 days out of the month on avg. I keep it as my toy, and thats it. Definitely would be harsh as a dd, so I drive my 89 EF Hatch. All im trying to say is it really depends on what you want man, if you want a DD I'd go with the g35 if u got the cash, or a RSX if your on a tighter budget. Non daily, S2K FOR SURE. But then again, these are my tastes and not yours. If you want anymore insight on s2000's let me know. Good luck, either way all 4 cars are sick and kudos for good taste.:goodjob:

My G isn't no where near is nice as his^^ and I still get the same reaction from other people (young and old). I get soccer moms in their Chevy Tahoes and their husbands driving, breaking their necks as they drive pass me. Haha its funny as hell. Oh and then theres those ignorant ones who don't know the difference between the G35 and the Skyline. They believe its a JDM Skyline all day.

I'm biased with the S2k, but here is my very non-professional opinion on these cars:
350Z - Great power, very fun to drive, great torque, great sound, nice modificationability (I know, goin' George Bush on you ;)), good price for the power
G35C - I haven't driven one, but this is what others have said: very very smooth, classy, a little more refined than the 350, not quite as quick, sounds great still, still easy to modify. Mostly for looks, but will go when you want it to
S2K - if you get one, get an AP1 for higher revving, or AP2 for newer and better styling (IMO). Not nearly as much power as the 350 or G, not nearly as much torque, looks sexy, girls love convertibles, easy to modify with a lot of JDM parts for it, best handling of the 4, good price for the highest power/liter engine on the market
RSX - looks nice, more laidback I guess? still have good power, but FWD ftl! My friend has an '05 type-s, responds well to basic modifications, has plenty of USDM and JDM aftermarket support, the most room of the group mentioned.
If you are looking for classy cars around $20-30k range, also consider the Volvo S60R slightly used, or the Mazdaspeed 6 slightly used if you want a little more room. Those are INSANE sleepers with over 300hp, 6MT sedans.
If you like the S2K, buy mine :) ~3,500 miles, $28k

my opinion may be slightly biased...since i own a s2000, but whatever. take what you want.
s2000 is more reliable. i've never had an issue, period with n/a s2000s. my buddy with a 350 is always going into the dealership for minor defects and worrying about the famous oil consumption issue.
i'll admit. the 350z is a great city car with all the HP and TQ. it has style and sounds stupid purdy in stock form. but so is a s2k. it drinks less gas...and rides on rails all day long.
there's hardly any room for anything except another passenger in a s2k. quite similar in the 350z as well, but maybe a bit (not too much) more room for racking stuff since it's a hatch style coupe. 350z is quiter, and has options for more features than the s2k. if you don't plan on driving up in the mtns. or track...g35c is probably a nice luxurious city car too. it's feels heavier than a 350z, but it looks dope when it's lowered on some deep dish set.
if you want a all around fun car and dont want to compensate anything...i think 350z is the way to go. if you want pure performance...s2000. not suggesting that the s2000 is the greatest performer among the list, but it's less practical than everything on the list. care for more luxury than sporty? g35c. if you run short of change, get a civic Si or RSX
tried to point stuff out while being neutral. again...it's completely my opinion so if you think otherwise, don't try to wipe me down because i don't come back to back up my opinion. now rep me for typing all this :D good luck finding your next car :goodjob:

Well i did not sift through the 7 pages so I don't know if anyone left a response like mine but here goes:
I've owned the RSX type S, I liked it. Yes it wasn't as fast as the others but it was still a nice driving car, insurance and gas were not that bad either.
Friend had an 07 350z , he traded it in for an 08 GTI, if that tells you anything. Yes the car is fast and fun to drive...sometimes. The thing was (as I was told) the 350 is not usable in everyday life. No space for anyone else but a single passenger, only a little room in the hatch for some stuff. Gas got super expensive, cause lets face it, he did not buy the z to putts around like an old man. Also insurance was expensive (and he was a 28y/o driver with a good history) not to mention I felt the interior was cramped.
Friend had an 06 s2k, I hated the interior, so cramped. It was a great looking car, and handle good. However I hated the power delivery. Once she got up into Vtec, nice and quick, but around town and down low in the rpm she was better then average honda but still nothing amazing IMO. I find that low end tq is much more usable then super high rpm power. THink about it, at what point in the average normal day are you going to need/want/have the ability to really open her up and not get in trouble? If you need to take a car to 7k to use her full power, not that great as a DD is it? Now don't get me wrong if I wanted/had time for a second weekend car this might be it. On twisty drives through the Mt's and such, awesome awesome car, I just do not think it's a nice everyday car.
Friend had a G35 (same guy who had a s2k) I like it so much better then his last car (except his Fx, but he hated that thing). Nice balance of sport and luxury. Fun driver, nice fair amount of room and it looked hot. Sounded good in stock form, plus has nice tq for everyday driving. If it were me this would be the way to go.
As it is I drive a Mini Cooper S (as a gap to the 135i :) ) and I like it. Decent TQ for around town, killer gas milege, and handles supurb. No room in the back for PPL, but I removed the seat and put in the delete kit for it, now I have tons of space for loading things in.
