Like I said in the other GTR thread, im sure the car will be a very well built car all around. Yet, IMO the car is over priced and the design looks way over the top. Dressed like it's going to be featured in a future star wars movie.

Are those really test figures? The only article I see is a preview, and the only figures I see are labeled as estimates.
If they manage to hustle 3800 lbs. from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with under 500 horsepower they'll practically be defying the laws of physics.

:lmfao:. The times are car and driver test times.
Quoted from the C&D site:
PERFORMANCE (MFR’S EST):
Zero to 60 mph: 3.5 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 11.7 sec
Notice the bold.
Also note the fact that it is AWD and has a Flappy-paddle box. Usually AWD cars (Evo & Sti) have seemingly amazing 0-60 times but from a roll their HP/Weight ratio becomes a factor. They just don't have to worry about traction like RWD cars do, thus making for very quick 0-60 times.
Revmaynard
11-09-2007, 04:35 PM
3800 and 450 should be like mid 12's, so with awd that can be resonable.

Yikes, looks like fifty different people threw design ideas into a blender. None of the lines match up and you can just tell by looking how cheap the plastics are. The steering wheel looks like a playstation wheel.

The interior looks strictly business...no sense of style, just everything you need at hand.
A near $100k car should look like this inside:

Here's what I mean.
cmon, u honestly think they would release w car with hotse gaps etc u pointed out, its probrably just a bad angle of the pic.
But like voododo said, its a performing car, much like a vette or a viper your not gonna get all that extra stuff like that benz u posted, its more of a drivers car were everything is geared towards the driver u can tell just by lookin at the 2....we expect a mercedes/ferrari/lambo to have a interior like that. With that in mind, u know what those buttons on the wheel are, prob cruise/audio controls/ maybe even controls for the digi display!

I guess it's just not classy enough for my tastes, I understand what you are saying. It looks no better than a $30k Evo. Even the new STI has a badass interior and it's only $30k.

That's exactly how I feel. Interior fit and finish is an important part of a car for me too.

I think the car will perform fine for the class that it is in. I don't think the Z06 and Viper have amazing interiors and if the new GTR can match the performance of those cars for about the same price then it will do fine. Interior is a very easy thing to change relatively on a car so who knows what the us production cars will look like. If it holds true to nissan 's reputation the car will probably excel in reliability and durability but if you can afford an 80k dollar car who cares about that ha ha . Good car just over hyped IMO.

But that's where the car gets its identity crisis. Is it a performance car? Luxury car? Supercar? A real performance car would care less about all those buttons for audio , AC, Phone, Nav etc. on the steering wheel as all these would distract the driver. At most they would just have the basic buttons for audio and cruise. That GT-R Steering wheel looks too busy.
I think it is an awesome performer.. they just need to give it a little thought on how they want to 'package' it.. especially on the inside... for a $ 80K plus car, it looks cheap. For a performace car, it looks cluttered.

i hear what ur sayin, but it is about to be 2008, and alot of things have changed since the r34. most cars above 40k have steering wheels audio controls. and it would make since to have nav controls on the wheel, rather than having to press another button somewhere else.
to me it looks totally identical to the r34 interior, just updated. espeically since the car has alto more technology into it.

yea but when u see a SLR u know its supercar with its perfect interior, hell a SLR weighs 4k pounds if they striped it down it would would be insanely faster than already is......but when u have sports cars on budget like the GTR and Z06 the place they suffer is interior and little things here and there
