View Full Version : problem w/ 89 crx si (PART 2)
yesterday i started my car, let it warm up(like i always do) and then left.
heres the funny part...everytime i turned my steerin wheel, the horn honked.
i kno that sounds funny(and it is) but at tha time it wasnt. so i popped the hood and pulled the horn fuse. problem solved! NOT!. well, the same fuse that the horn works off of, also operates my brake lights. so i had to disconnect my horns altogether... so my question is...

Sounds like a malfunctioning clock spring inside the steering column. It's more than likely shorted on it. I'd consider replacing it and when you do, make sure you don't rotate the clock spring at all, and be sure that the steering wheel + wheels is straight ahead.

that makes sense... would AutoZone or Advanced carry this part?

Probably not. It might be a Dealer only part. Consider a junkyard as the next best choice
