Amazing pics. I'm truly impressed. Very very nice. I like the composition and the depth of a lot of those shots.

Questions, if you don't mind:

What filter do you use for the cloud shots? Polarized?

What lens did you use for the shots like the lighthouse and the church? Fisheye?

Some shots were obviously shot with a tripod, but did you use a tripod on all of them?

Finally, what kind of cam did you use? What resolution?

Incredible pics. Props. :goodjob:

hey, thanks for the compliments!

my camera is a nikon D70 and the majority of the shots were taken with a nikon 18-70 lens (which is a wide angle, but not quite fisheye. it did give the skewed perspective on a few of the shots you mentioned though). i also have a quantaray 70-300 but i think i only used it for a couple of the shots in there. everything was taken on fine quality at 3008x2000 and then sized down and compressed in photoshop. photo #40 is the only exception and that was taken with my old sony717 that i happend to have out at the time.

i only used a tripod on a couple of the shots (the 2 that show the bridge/river around sunset, and in the pic i took with the sony i just set it on the ground). i would have liked to have one for all the downtown night shots and the ones i took on the beach, however i didn't take it along on those little trips and just cranked up the ISO and handheld it at somewhat slow shutter speeds. luckily nikon made the D70 good enough that you can still use a pretty high ISO (some of those were taken with it cranked all the way to 1600) without crazy amounts of grain, and that lets you take a slightly quicker exposure. oh, i did use a few makeshift tripods for some of the last shots as well (rocks, trash cans, etc...).

the only filter i use is a UV/protective filter and everything else is done in photoshop (i guess 4 years at art school paid off a little :) ). i mainly just adjust the curves and levels, but on the ones that are extremely vibrant have had a few other tricks applied to them.

thanks again, and feel free to let me know if you have any other questions on them.
