i was wondering if any B or H series intake manifolds would fit on a SOHC F22 accord head.

i have an edelbrock victor-x on my crx and the runners look like they would match up perfectly on a F22.

if anyone knows anything about em' please post.

the B-series won't fit for sure. A H23 manifold will bolt up to a F22A1/2 head, but the ports are a lot bigger, so the head will need to be ported to match the IM. Also, there wouldn't really be a point of running an intake manifold with larger ports if you dont need it. Unless you are running a monster cam and very high C/R pistons, you will probably not outflow the stock F22A intake manifold. If running a turbo, a larger intake manifold means more area to pressurize when reaching full boost (may cause more lag at low rpm)

Only h23 manifold will fit.. Port match is recommended.

DAMN! THANKS ALOT!

my friend just got an accord and wants to make effort at keeping up with my crx, and he asked me what all he could do just to add some simple HP.

the first da.mn thing i said was "TURBO THAT MOTHER" but hes got a low budget, so thats gone down the shi.tter.

so i figure, get a bigger IM, throttle body, fuel rail, injectors, and exhasut system should add close to 45 -50 HP i guess? maybe?

Negattive on that..

Heres a more simple effective way... Cold air intake, Colder plugs, Slap on a 50 wet shot. Then youll make 40whp ish.

lolol 45-50hp? no f*ing way. you might get 15whp out of all that.

ehh.. wishful thinking i guess. lol.

tell me this, how is a CAI any different from just taking all the stock plastic intake junk off and leaving just the intake maniflold and throttle body?

ive always thought that the less air restriction, the better response you would get. so why are companys selling cai's if people would be better off just removing the stock intake?

because the air in the engine bay is super hot...crank your car, climb in, and close the hood, lol...a cai pulls cooler air from "the road". iceman intakes were very good...i've had three accords, and i'm not convinced an h22 im won't bolt to an f22...may have to bang the firewall a little depending, but not sure...go to www.cb7tuner.com/vbb to get very good info on these engines and their mods, along w/ proven dyno numbers if you look around...

what he said about the air temps=not good for hp, but also intakes are tuned for resonances that can also boost hp/tq in certain circumstances and change intake velocity.

running without an intake tube/pipe will not help. they are not itb's.

but the cai is located inside the hood as well. how is a paper or foam filter going to cool the air?

hell, sometimes, the air filter on a CAI is closer to the engine (resulting in more heat) than the throttle body.

and what makes a CAI any different than just putting a flange and filter on the throttle body.

you're talking about a short ram intake...a cai goes down into the wheel well...
