No IMO, he's a good guy though... Just wouldn't want him as a Supermod based on my observations.

I explained why in the mod forum... but I don't want to air it out in here.. let people make their own decisions. Not that this thread will impact anything though.

I don't expect it to impact anything. I'm just speaking my mind. It was brought to my attention, by Chris, that I have only met Chris once and only know him from the WL. Considering this is IA and the WL is 99% of where all of the action goes down and he has been chosen as IA super mod, I think I know all I need to know. I might have to be a little more informed on how he is in his every day life if I was voting for him for president of the US. The fact is, he is not respected enough on here to be a Super Mod. If the point is to clean up IA, which I am savvy enough to understand, then I feel he was a poor choice.

I have nothing against Collins and think he is a decent guy, why don't we just add him to the list of super mods while we are at it if this is the route we are going to take? I know you get the point.

If you see it as not a big deal, then why even have mods? He's already proven he's not a good mod, IMO. 2 examples have happened in the last hour.

Why was this thread locked? Because he didn't like what I said? What was the rule violation? It should be a really simple black and white answer. Rules are rules and mods are here to enforce them, correct? Mods should be impartial and unbiased, even tempered and logical...even when it includes them. They should be a well respected part of the community they are moderating.

It's an issue to me, a long time member of this site...which you should understand and respect...as a super mod.

I don't think you should be a super mod. I have nothing else against you, never have. I have never bad mouthed you in any way...PERIOD and I know you can vouch for that. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word spoad, so for that I was wrong. Other than that, if the REAL point is to clean up I and start marketing it....I feel that a super mod should be a respected member of the community, which you are not. They should also be level headed and able to handle their emotions, which in handling this issue with me you have not been able to do. Like I said, I don't own IA, so in the end it's not my decision.

I happen to enjoy the fact that IA is so open minded. That's the main reason that I care and also the main reason I spend so much time here. There have been MANY occasions in the past years that myself and our shop have had people say things about us openly and in writing for all to read. I have had to accept that as part of IA if I want to be able to enjoy the same privilege on this site. I think unnecessary and unprovoked stalking of a member should be eliminated. I also feel like there shouldn't be bashing in the noob section on their first post...but I feel whole heartedly that you should be able to voice your opinion. I am simply doing that.

If I thought it was a big deal then im sure julio and pablo would have started banning by now....

that i will have to say i agree whole heatly with you. We have only butted heads a few times but that was over the matter of simple ****. I dont think i have ever tryed to cross you over SM powers and decisions, becuase in my opinion all SM and above should think relitivly(sp) the same. They should all be able to make a decision and other SM understand how it was made.

Like tracy said all SM should be lvl headed people, and now when and where to really use there powers. and when to be able to use the rule book on things. i have gone through threads that flirted with the line of breaking rules but let them slide, and each turned out just fine. *and saved me from having to take the time to sort out the thread*

I don't know him personally either but I can honestly say I feel it was a bad decision.

He spells poorly and doesn't use the proper grammar or punctuation. He's not well-respected in the car community. I can't think of anything he's done in the car-community except maybe post about his wishlist for parts for his car.

So hes proposing that we rip out IAs soul, which has been the CAR ENTHUSIAST , and replace it by selling out to more mainstream jobs and media outlets.

Im sorry, thats NOT the way to make IA grow. If Julio is serious about growing IA to be bigger, i think he will agree its CORE audience is who we should cater to.

Why would you alienate current sponsors cause you think they dont deserve their own forum? People that have donated money to the cause FOR ALONG TIME now your just going to say, sorry, your not good enough or active enough, take a hike.

The answer is to bring in bigger advertisers by growing the core audience. Bring in MANUFACTURERS of parts, make even more subforums for different trypes of businesses if they want, and preach to them that they have to stay active, or have people be active for them on IA to get their product out there.

Hell ive done that for 4 businesses on this site with great results (Auto Options, SRZ Racing, Mainstream, and now Batlground).

Look what Brandon did for Rons Auto. Look what Brett did for AAP.

That is how you GROW IA, not by locking threads, and bashing current sponsors and basically saying "im going to tattle on you" because you dont agree with me.

HONESTLY I DON'T SEE WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS W/ IA AND POSSIBILITIES OF OPENING UP OUR DOORS TO OTHER VENTURES IF THAT IS WHAT WE WANT TO DO.

ALL THIS TALK OF SPONSORS AND MONEY PAID... HONESTLY SPONSORS HAVE NOT PAID THE WAY FOR IA IT HAS BEEN PAID BY JULIO/I. THE LITTLE MONEY IF WE EVEN GET MONEY OUT OF A SPONSOR HAS JUST GIVEN US $ TO PUT BACK INTO IA. THIS HOBBY OF JULIO/I DOES OVER A 1TB (1000+GB) OF TRAFFIC A MONTH. THIS SH!T ISN'T FREE FOR US TO RUN!

I'VE BEEN W/ JULIO FOR A WHILE NOW AND A MEMBER LONGER THEN PROBABLY 98% OF THIS SITE. SH!T WE WERE JUST REMEMBERING THE OLD DAY BACK W/ HYBRID, TOYS R US, ETC. THOSE DAYS ARE OVER WE HAVE TO REALIZE THAT. THE FORUMS HAVE MOVED MORE INTO AN OFFTOPIC SITE THEN A CAR ONLY SITE.

i don't think i would say the SITE but the scene has lost momentum/speed... many of us who originally came to know one another online through this site have found that cars isn't the only thing we have in common or what we like talk about.

i don't see this being a bad thing, i see it being evolution of any site that has a strong member base as ours.

FOR THE RECORD IMPORTATLANTA.COM WILL NEVER DIE AS LONG AS WE OWN THIS SITE. IA WILL ALWAYS BE THE BACKBONE OF ALL VENTURES FOR JULIO/I. THE SCENE HAS GIVEN MUCH MORE TO JULIO/I THEN OUR SITE HAS GIVEN TO IT. :cheers:

i am willing to work it out with all of the mods and bring my energy down but nobody gives me the chance. Its the same people that always takes it straight to the WL and puts me on the front cover.... i dont want that. PM me or call me whatever. I would much rather talk in private. IA gives me the attention i dont want... its always been that way.

I want nothing more than to be accepted by the other mods for a motivator rather than a "god". That is all i have been doing is just simply being a motivator.

I do want to learn the ways of the IA family... Im just doing what I was asked to do.

Im glad that finally now Admin and Julio have posted and said their points.

Julio, your right, ive had crazy beef with most poeple on this site that i now call FRIENDS (B@D @PPLE, BTLFED, YOU). But how long did it take man? YEARS. It took YEARS for me to gain back the trust and respect . Hell you banned me for 6 months :)

The difference between me an chris is i WORKED and turned my my rep around. He has not done that, he came right back on here, got supermod powers, and is going to town.

I came back on the board, i posted, i contributed, i got made a MODERATOR, then after i proved myself you made me a SUPER MODERATOR. I wasnt just given the power because i could help IA.

Now you know that i have nothing but respect for you guys (paul and Julio). I think you have a great thing going here (IA) and that you should take advantage of growing it, but i think you should have discussed it with the rest of your SUPER MOD team.

You will need help to grow this site, and sinking everything on someone like Chris with his reputation, well, all i can say is good luck with that. What has he done to help this site? NOTHING.

WE CAN ALL HELP, but the way the transition in power went down, i totally felt disrespected (by Chris).

He comes on one day as a super mod and starts THREATENING ME, OTHER MODS, SPONSORS and all he keeps saying is that he has YOUR EAR and YOUR CONFIDENCE. He keeps sayins how he knows all these plans you have in store for IA and how he cant share them with us.

He keeps telling us how IA needs different mods cause we dont get along with him and his views, which he claims are in turn your views.

Go read the JL its all there.

Anyways, i have zero respect for him, and im just along for the ride from here on out. BUt if you guys want help, call me, you have my number, or you know someone that can get it.

Im sure some of us REAL PROFESSIONALS that have REALLY contributed to IA and have been there over the years would be happy to grow this site.

I am not going to defend Chris other then to say i think he deserves a chance w/ IA.

If he stepped on some peoples toes this is the greatness about IA; he will learn humility quick w/ a post like this. This is not a normal site we aren't forum Nazi's... we allow members/sponsors to speak out. But again in IA tradition a nobody can become a somebody.

Chris was a complete toolbag some years ago and i have seen him over the past few years turn some things around as far as attitude/reputation. I think he kinda ran w/ the ball on this one and it got ahead of him.

history for some... i talked to Julio a long time ago before IMPORTSOUTH bullsh!t and i was told by him/chris they had things under control... after that fall out i tried to get into IA again and Julio went w/ another guy rushi... by this time i was little dissapointed but still very determined to get into the site. i actually even contacted julio at one point and time to take down a graphic rushi stole from the PI site I built. to make a long story short you have to keep trying until people either accept you or you just give up. i later got the call from Pablo/Julio and I now can honestly say I helped turn this site around from doing 20+gb of traffic to 1000+gb of traffic a month. This site takes a different breed; it surely isn't for the weak of hearts.
