I'm not even sure if this is possible or not but I just wanted to see if 4 other people on here would want to go in with me and get a family pack of the new Leapord release. So instead of 116.00 (my student discount) it would only cost us 40.00 each + some change. Anyone want to do this?

I really have no idea, I was just reading on some mac forums about sharing copies of the software. They said that the single user copy can be put on as many computers as you want, and that apple is just simply "trusting" the buyers to be smart with the software. So we may not even need a family pack, but simply a single user copy. I guess we definitely would have to meet somewhere to install it on everyone's computer unless we could make copies, but I don't know how to do that. I read that it doesn't require a serial key or anything so I think they are just going on the honesty of the customers.

So far right now it's just me and you, I need to ask my girlfriend if she would do it, I can ask one of my roommates who has a mac and that's about all I know to ask. So hopefully some more people on IA will want to get in.

Oh and I wouldn't be able to do it this weekend, but I could give someone my money and if y'all already had a group together I could just get the disc from someone when I get back in town.

I've considered dual booting XP and OSX on my PC. Let me do some research and I'll get back to you. I'm at GT everyday from 8am-12noon and till 3pm on tuesday and thursday so meeting should be easy if your location is still correct.

Guys I live very close to the Apple Store and go there every weekend almost. If anyone wants to, you can send me the paypal (which means youll be protected from me ripping you off lol), and Ill pick it up. And we can just plan on all meeting for an install "day" this Saturday.

Saturday afternoon at Borders/Starbucks in Buckhead...

I'm going to be in Knoxville this weekend but that might still be fine, you guys could all install it and then I could just get the disc from George when I get back in town. I guess we need to decide on a final cost for everyone though.

Looks like 212.93 after tax for the family pack. So to be safe, lets say 43.00 per person.

I just checked, I only get a discount on the single user software for being a Gatech student. The family pack is still 199.99.

I may just ask for this for Christmas now that I think of it, so you guys try and get 5 people without me. I need to figure out what I'm doing.

I'm afraid to upgrade until I'm sure I don't have to upgrade any other software due to the new OS. I know that the new OS doesn't support ProTools but I think I can work around that.

Anyone know if the Leopard supports Adobe CS2 Suite?

I may just wait for the .1 version. Hopefully all the bugs will be worked out by then
